Golden had run away from everything she knew ten years ago and now she returned to civilisation looking a complete mess her mane was scruffy and tangled around her horn and any twigs that got stuck in it. she was covered in mud which hid her yellowy gold coat and her glasses had cracks and snapped in the middle. she kept running through town hoping for a hiding place. eventually she reached a house it looked empty and she ducked inside to try and avoid the ponies outside.

Jade got up like any normal day in his dump of a home he put himself in. Had a small breakfast, tried to clean his mane and check the stolen things he had in the closet in the room he had claimed. When he got down stairs though he saw a unicorn next to the window, to most ponies they would question why she was there but how she looked, he knew something was after her and if that was true then he needed to hide as well so he got under the opposite window to hers by the door. He signed directions that said 'wait till there gone to talk'.

When he got down stairs though he saw a unicorn next to the window, to most ponies they would question why she was there but how she looked, he knew something was after her and if that was true then he needed to hide as well so he got under the opposite window to hers by the door. The cops came past walking as expected and were knocking on the doors of the houses. They passed Jade's house by as it looked abandoned and Golden peaked her head up to check if they were gone and signalled to Jade that the coast was clear and the two could talk

"Good, there gone" Jade stared at Golden "So what brings you to my not so abandoned house? I'm guessing from the look of it you were running for a while, did you go throw the everfree or something because I can see the twigs" Jade walks over to a closet in the living room and brings out some bandages "Need this?"

"Good, there gone" Jade stared at Golden "So what brings you to my not so abandoned house? I'm guessing from the look of it you were running for a while, did you go throw the everfree or something because I can see the twigs" Jade walks over to a closet in the living room and brings out some bandages "Need this?"

@@Yoshikupo, 

Golden picked the bandages up in a magic bubble and began to cover her wounds. "Th...thank-you" she said giving the remaining bandages back to Jade. She then attempted to pull the twigs from her mane but was unsuccessful as it hurt to get them out. but she threw the few she managed to get out into the fire place "umm... why are you staring at me like that?" She said nervously.

"Well, its weird for me to get visitors and you are a special case of that as your covered in wounds, twigs, and dirt. It would be weird even for a normal pony to see you like this" Jade explained trying to keep his cool as he put the bandages back "Also if you need help getting clean I can chip in...I don't have running water though so we would have to go to the pond...also before you ask the reason why I'm helping you is from one pony to another, seeing you like this makes me unhappy" That was part of the reason anyway.

"oh it's okay I'm used to pond washing by now" Golden said "but you might need to show me where it is. I've never been here before and I don't know my way around." she said thinking she could trust this kind stallion after all he had helped her already so she'd have no reason not to.

"Well I guess I should show you around in the only way I know how" He spreads his wings to show how they'll be getting there "You can get on my back, I'm used to having large things on my back...don't ask" He gets a towel from the closet and go's to the door "Ready when you are" He invites Golden on his back

(Large things!? he can see my ribs and I'm large?!) Golden thought. whilst following Jade. "okay... go" Golden said covering her eyes and using a magic bubble to close the door behind them. "so... What do you do for a living?" Golden said attempting to learn more about the stallion who was helping her.

"Uh...odd jobs, I don't have a natural employment but I do heavy lifting most of the time" It was semi true, like most of what he says "Anyway, if your going to ask questions then I guess I should too. What is your name? Mine's Jade" He thought he could at least know her name

"Oh, really? I'm Golden Quill It's a pleasure to meet you Jade."Golden said uncovering one of her eyes to see how high they were and then immediately covering it again realising that they were at cloud levels. (Breathe Golden breathe) she thought. (why did I leave the forest?)

"Don't worry I got this." Golden cast a time freezing spell that effected the area surrounding the lake but not the spell's caster. "just a small trick I picked up from my travels" she said getting all the mud and twigs out from her coat and mane. whilst refreshing the spell every few seconds.

Jade had never seen this magic, Stopping time? How is this mare? How does she know this? Jade was definitely confused but didn't question it for the time being. After some time Jade started questioning what would happen now, this girl had to go sometime, Jade wasn't capable of caring for a pony without them knowing what he does. Of course Jade thought Golden would go on her way after all this, she can take care of herself. Jade was still in deep thought.

Golden was now out of the lake but waited until she was near Jade to let the spell expire.  "Right then what now?" Golden said to Jade "your the one who lives here so I take it you know what to do now?" Golden said taking the towel from Jade and drying herself off. "oh and you wouldn't know where I can get some new glasses would you?"

At least that's better than why my sister does and dyes her mane and coat as a disguise" Jade realized what he just said "My families reputation is not well with others"

"It's okay Jade I've figured it out by now and you don't need to hide it from me any longer I've met worse ponies on my travels." Golden said levitating her broken glasses back on. Then out of the corner of her eye she noticed something an old poster pinned to a tree it read "have you seen this mare?" with a picture of Golden underneath it. her eyes widened as she attempted to pull the pin out with her magic

"please" Golden said looking around for any pony that may have seen the poster she didn't want to be found she liked the life on the run and she liked the freedom that came with it the only thing she didn't like were the search parties and the posters reminding her of the family that drove her away.

Golden got on Jade's back and he flew back to the house as fast as he could. Jade almost hit the door when he landed but stopped right before he did. He opened the door for Golden then closed it "So can you answer my question now? How is making you run away?"

"okay." Golden said nervously "I've been running for ten years now ever since my parents drove me out the house in 1946. well a bit earlier then that specifically nine months earlier. but it took nine months for me to leave as there were... complications involving the hospital and somepony else who I won't mention.

"Ten years?!" Jade was surprised that it wasn't something recent, most ponies forget about him but he guesses it was just small stealing and not running away from family "I won't tell anypony, but what did they do to have you runaway?" Jade signaled her to go up to his room upstairs.

Golden did as she was told and went upstairs still talking. "well it was mostly my dad yelling at me to get out the house. That he wished that I was never born and he kept telling me that I was an accident." Golden started crying softly but enough to be detected by a pony paying close attention to her

They got to Jade's room, it was almost entirely cleared except a bed, a dresser, and a rug that was dray covering the bottom of the room "This is where I live, but really the only reason why I'm here is to be away from my family"

"Huh. Are you sure It's the only reason?" Golden said looking at Jade through the corner of her eye knowing what Jade did for a living. "anyway... why are you telling me where you live?" Golden directly at Jade "your not a serial killer as well are you?" she joked
