"Ah, Golden!" Jade picks her head up from the floor "I won't stop...you need this" "Mind filling me in while I get us to Sunnies?" "Were going to Pyrite to get this sorted out" "One, you never told me, two, Goldie is hidden in the forest and only we know how to get there, three, she is are best bet to lay low for at least a little to have you and Golden feeling better" "Fine...so you wanted to know about Golden?"

 

About an hour past as Jade told Emerald about what happened. "We're here, I'm going to go an make the trail of the tires disappear while you get inside with Golden" When Jade left the van with Golden on his back, all he saw were trees around him and a bunch of huddled together trees that did look a little unnatural. He went up to the bunched up trees and pressed on a piece of peeling bark the made a door appear with a small room. The room had a ladder going up. "Sunny? Gold? Goldie? Can you help me here?" Two yellow young ponies, one stallion pegasus and one mare unicorn looked down the hole "Cousin Jade!" The two shouted "Goldie, can you lift Golden up there?" "Sure" She levitated Golden up and onto the floor of the house as Jade climbed up "How is this Mare?" Jade sighed "I guess I have time till Emerald gets back" He starts to explain.

Golden woke up breathing heavily and sat bolt upright "what? where? AH! New ponies!"  she said bundling up in a corner and covering her face with her hair and casting an invisibility spell "who are you ponies? why am I here? what do you want from me? I just want to go 'home'"

Jade, Gold and Goldie looked at the pony, or the direction that they heard the voice coming from "Its fine, these are my cousins. There names are-" "Gold" "And I'm Goldie" They interrupted "Is it true you survived a gun shot?" "Was you magic about to be taken away by you parents?" "Did you and Jade kiss!?" They asked excitedly for an answer "I didn't say the last part I swear!" "It sounds like something you would do" Emerald says as she climbs to the top of the ladder "Hey!" He responds, then a melodiously kind voice says "It would be nice if you finally got a marefriend" "Sunny, not you too" Sunny comes into view as she exits the ladder "Emerald told me what happened, and you welcome to stay by the way"

Golden's breathing got louder as more ponies entered and Gold and Goldie continued to ask questions "please stop, your scaring me." she said as a small pool of tears collected on the floor next to her which was the only way her crying was detected by anyone who wasn't her

"yeah... it's just they were scaring me. I don't like ponies questioning me nor do i like large crowds" she said drying her tears on her right hoof "i'm sorry i'm such a coward." she looked at the ground ashamed of herself whilst also accidentally poking Jade with her horn

Emerald started walking to the two "Hey, Jade is enough of a sad sack, we don't need another one...especially one that can freeze time" "What Emerald is trying to say is not to be so hard on yourself, I'm sure most of your fears stem from what you have gone throw in your life" "Trust Jade, he is way better at cheering ponies up than me" "Wow, no jab at m-" "I mean when you compare yourself to his life, yours isn't so bad" Jade huffs at Emerald

Emerald started walking to the two "Hey, Jade is enough of a sad sack, we don't need another one...especially one that can freeze time" "What Emerald is trying to say is not to be so hard on yourself, I'm sure most of your fears stem from what you have gone throw in your life" "Trust Jade, he is way better at cheering ponies up than me" "Wow, no jab at m-" "I mean when you compare yourself to his life, yours isn't so bad" Jade huffs at Emerald

Golden managed a small giggle before she covered her mouth. "sorry. please don't hit me I didn't mean it" She said backing away until she reached a wall. "please don't hurt me. Please " she said as she began crying yet again as memories of her father beating her resurfaced

In Emeralds mind, she was glad to hear the giggle but seeing Golden run in fear made her regret it a little "Girl, everything is fine, I was looking for that reaction...you needed to smile, even for a second" Jade felt better about the situation after Emerald said that "Whatever they did to you, we won't" "I'm a criminal and if I had a kid the last thing I would think about would be to hurt them, hell Sunny is the best example of a mom I can think of and she has stolen thousands of stuff...not saying what we did is ok but still"

Golden breathed a sigh of relief knowing she wouldn't be beaten for laughing. she hugged Emerald and Jade as thanks before she noticed how awkward it was so she stopped. "sorry about that... I just yeah... got a bit exited" she said nervously rubbing the back of her head

"Hey, most of us have hobbies or watch T.V. most of the time...Only Diamond really makes her hobby into something illegal" Jade thinks as he looks around "I mean I guess the other thing that we could do here is explore around and see nature, maybe we could find some flowers or something...I know a few potion recipes from a friend" Jade leads the way out of the house

"alright then" Golden said following Jade. looking around the forest reminded her of the part of the Everfree forest where she lived but the two weren't exactly the same the mushrooms here looked different and she hadn't seen a single timberwolf in her time in this forest

"I see that look in your eyes, it feels familiar but its different right?" Jade said looking to her "I've had that happen so many times to me...of course I have seen it from others in my family as well" Jade started down a different direction "of I remember, Sunny lead me to a hot springs over here"

Golden nodded excitedly she liked hot springs as they were her main source of hot water whilst she was out in the sticks otherwise it was a pot which had been donated by one of the towns people held over the world's worst campfire golden wasn't the best fire maker in the world

As Jade got there a horrible smell went throw his lungs "What is that?" He said covering his nose. He looked around the hot springs to see some mushrooms that were growing near the water. After a second the smell stopped "I guess its over...the mushrooms are new but as long as we don't eat them or anything, I don't thing we will be in danger" Jade looked to Golden again "Right?"

"No they could be harbouring dangerous parasites and when your a larger mammal parasites love clinging to your body and infecting, crawling laying eggs, infesting and it's just disgusting! can we go now before i puke or something? please Jade? " Golden said recoiling

"Yeah...your right" Jade starts to leave the area 38th Golden "I think they free since the start of spring, sorry we couldn't stay there" Jade apologized as he perked up again "There is a cave with these glowing crystals around here "We got rid of a dragon there before" Jade said going in another new direction.

"Oh cool! I've seen a dragon before it came right up next to my cave and completely towered over the entrance it was scary but I had one of the local stallions 'round after her broke his hoof whilst climbing so I at least had some protection." Golden said as her chest suddenly felt tight upon the mentioning of the Stallion

"I guess that's good...I hope that stallion is ok" The two reached the cave "The dragon wasn't that big, like 15 feet at most" They looked into the entrance to see blue and purple lights iluminating the inside "I swear that nothing could be in here that isn't a minor nucence"

"..." Golden didn't say anything concerning the Stallion after that. she was to busy wondering why her chest was so tight when ever she thought about him. It wasn't grief as he was still alive so she didn't know what else it could be unless it was love? no that was impossible wasn't it?

Jade noticed the silence so he thought something happened to the stallion "Well if you don't want to talk about it then we can at least enjoy what's here" They went deeper in the cave and saw a steadly increasing size of crystals till they found a giant purple crystal at the end of the cave "Its wonderful isn't it? I mean look at how it glows against the contrast of the walls around" Jade admired it

Golden felt an overwhelming urge to press her horn against the crystal. "Tttttttttoooooooouuuuuucccccchhhhh the crrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyssssssssssssstal....Tttttttttoooooooouuuuuucccccchhhhh the crrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyssssssssssssstal...." a voice in her head repeated to her "I feel like I should touch that..." she said walking forwards with her head bowed down and horn at the closest point to the crystal it could get.

Golden began to feel weak but she couldn't stop herself when she got three feet away the mist stopped exiting her horn and she fell to the ground it seemed like the crystal was satisfied with the magical energy it had gathered from Golden. her horn sparked and flickered before a ball of light formed at the end of it she was still alive but she wouldn't be able to do much magic for a while. " maybe we shouldn't wander into caves filled with strange magic eating crystals for a while ... or ever..." she said opening one of her eyes
