His eyes grew low and filled with content, agreeing with her, "The devil's in the details." He leaned in and kissed her long and soft. Nothing extra, he knew not how to kiss any other way. His eyes closed, his face becoming quite the shade of red and his mind filled with bliss. Now he could see why others his age had a problem with this.

Sparkle slowly pulled away her wings were at full extent and she could have fallen asleep right there in his hooves. but she didn't she was too determined to return the favour. although  she would wait for a little while longer. Sparkle opened her eyes

He pulled his lips away slowly, taking a deep breath and opening his eyes. This was the pony whom he would give his first affections. How very dear. Sparkle's heart was sent aflutter Sable had to be one of the greatest kissers she had ever met. Sparkle took the first look at him where she noticed his dark blue fur and red hind legs,his black mane and his bluey violet eyes. especially his eyes Sparkle loved blue eyes.

He added a bit of humor to reduce his anxiety, "And to think your parents didn't want you visiting." He brought his head to hers and took another deep breath before adding, "What are we doing?" His voice was weak. This was uncharted territory for him and he wasn't too sure on the trouble it could cause.

"right now we are lying on the floor for whatever reason " Sparkle said grinning like a mad mare. "hey I've an idea. how 'bout we stop lieing on the floor like two tables and move somewhere else. not saying I don't like the current position of me lying in your hooves but it isn't the best thing for your neck... oh! how 'bout we walk the dam that you saved? that'll be fun right?"

It seemed this mare knew more about his bodies posture than he did, how thoughtful. However, when she mentioned the dam, his head snapped up in full attention, "Da**it!... No pun intended. I forgot about my heat salts." Then under his breath, "Nopony ordered any yet, but getting it out in the open now would surely mean success." He then looked down at her quickly, asking, "Yes, that would be lovely. Would you mind if I make some deliveries on our way there? I would just be leaving packages at doors."

It seemed this mare knew more about his bodies posture than he did, how thoughtful. However, when she mentioned the dam, his head snapped up in full attention, "Da**it!... No pun intended. I forgot about my heat salts." Then under his breath, "Nopony ordered any yet, but getting it out in the open now would surely mean success." He then looked down at her quickly, asking, "Yes, that would be lovely. Would you mind if I make some deliveries on our way there? I would just be leaving packages at doors."

Sparkle nodded as much as she could without head butting Sable in the chin "I don't mind not at all. as long as it doesn't take six hours" sparkle joked. "naw just make sure we don't freeze to death I don't feel like dying today... or at all anytime soon now that i think about it."

He smiled, answered craftily, "I have something to remedy that." Then he quickly kissed her again and answered her concern, "Don't worry, it's fifty small packages that I will be putting periodically into mailboxes. I can do it all via magic." Cool, things were looking up. He just needed to grab his fire opal cap. He knew by the end of this he would be completely drained again, but this time around he would really enjoy every second of it.

Cool, things were looking up. He just needed to grab his fire opal cap.

 

He knew by the end of this he would be completely drained again, but this time around he would really enjoy every second of it.

Sparkle nodded again before getting up and standing by the door. "sooo... d'you need help with those packages? I might not look it but I'm pretty strong" Sparkle said looking out the window at the street's leading up to the dam. she didn't realise it last night but the dam had something carved into it the name of the town Rockvalley and the year in which it was built 1955 .

Sable stepped down to his lab, sanitizing himself and grabbing a large pack which he draped over his back, calling back up, "Nah, I got this." It was true, all relatively light.  Then, from a glass case, he pulled out a cone shaped piece of glowing fire opal, which he placed over the tip of his horn. He climbed back upstairs and met Sparkle atop, asking her, "Ready?"

Sable looked downwards, saying self conciously, "Well, I never really thought about it, but I guess is could be designed more streamline, but I'm no gem cutter." Then she kissed him and brightened up before opening up the door and saying, "Let's head out then."

His fire opal glowed, being fed by the magic of his horn, an giving off a snow melting field of warmth around him, from which he said, "I would ask you to stay close."

Sable looked downwards, saying self conciously, "Well, I never really thought about it, but I guess is could be designed more streamline, but I'm no gem cutter." Then she kissed him and brightened up before opening up the door and saying, "Let's head out then."

His fire opal glowed, being fed by the magic of his horn, an giving off a snow melting field of warmth around him, from which he said, "I would ask you to stay close."

"but you don't need to" Sparkle said keeping close for two reasons 1. Sable provided a reliable source of heat and 2. he was Sable and Sparkle liked Sable like a lot. "so... it's my birthday next month... I was wondering if you'd like to umm... y'know go to the beach with me?" Sparkle said shyly

"The 22nd of January in well January" Sparkle said "we're going to the south coast as it's slightly warmer down there than up here. and I know you don't like her but my mom's taking us. I haven't told her that your coming yet it's mainly this mare I know from my old school..."

Then looking to her, "An old friend, I'm sure it will be a delightful occasion. How much time would be appropriate to take off?"

"just the day. we don't need any longer anyway she has to be back in Canterlot by eight the next day. so we can't stay any longer than we would've unless we put her on the train and stayed there ourselves?" Sparkle said raising an eyebrow. "my mom is coming back here anyway."

He did a mental inventory, eyes shifting as he crunched numbers in his head. Regular income, minus time spent on promotional attempts, plus the holiday rush and the dam repair publicity, from now until Januaray 20, the time in which I must buy the ticket.... He felt confident in the amount of money he would have by that time and looked towards her, "I have plenty enough bits. I can buy her the ticket."

"okay cool!" suddenly an Idea popped into Sparkle's head. "hey... you know that fire opal on your horn? could I have some? I might be able to help with the horn cap issue..." she said realising how she could make it look better and possibly more streamlined so that it simply looked cooler

He thought about what he had back at his lab.  He had plenty of raw amethyst, and powdered fire opal, but no raw fire opal, and since she lacked unicorn magic, she couldn't fuse pieces together. But, since he needed more anyway for the rest of winter left, he needed to order more anyways. He was a tad confused by how it would be done, but he felt like he should have trusted her now, so he answered, "I am out of the raw, non-powdered stuff" as they made it to the dam, "But I have to order more anyways. I'll be sure to send some your way." When he stopped, he pulled two packages from his bag and handed it to her, saying, "For you and your family. The salts keep the ground warm, so snow doesn't stick around."

"thank-you" Sparkle gave Sable a light kiss on the cheek before running to the edge of the dam where the was a telescope "I bet you can see for miles from here!" she said peering through it curiously " geez I can actually see the ocean from here. and these plains go on for what looks like ever..." she began shivering as a rather cold wind blew across the dam making her wings act like sails but the winds weren't powerful enough to take her over the dam wall just enough to push her into the railings where she opened her eyes and quickly ran backwards and hiding behind Sable. "I don't like hights... yes I know the irony of a pegasus not liking hights but If I fell would my wings be enough to catch me?" she said as her breathing slowed

Then to her eyes, he said, "Oh my, are you okay? Are you hurt?" Then she told him about her fear of heights, and he stood back a few feet and responded, "Well, I'm sure they could if you know how to use them properly. However, there is no pressure for you to learn. Your just a pony, I've met unicorns live great lives without magic, and other pegasi who go through their whole lives without taking flight once." Then he took one of her wings in his hooves, "But, your wings are very majestic."

"Oh..." she giggled "t...thank you... the Stallions in Cloudsdale go nuts for mares with large wingspans for some reason, that's when ever Cloudsdale got close enough to Canterlot where I could walk in without leaving the ground for very long... but large wings also" another gust of wind blew. "catch the wind easier." she said finding cover

He took a breath as he stood between her and the general wind direction, cocking his head and saying, "Well they aren't wrong," Teasingly, "You are awful hard not to fawn over." Then more thoughtfully, "If you are afraid of heights, then don't go high. You have that freedom."
