He decided on cider. Every pony liked cider. He took out a jar of the fresh stuff his mother had sent him, poured it into a teapot and began to heat it up over the stove. While doing this, he commented, "Yeah, I understand, and it probably wasn't the best idea. She'll probably figure it out really quick. By the way, what may I ask you do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"

"nothing really i just thought i'd drop on in to see how you were doing after my mom closed the door in your face last night. sorry about that by the way... and the now wet carpet." Sparkle said standing up and extending her wings to allow them to dry naturally

Staring down at the tea pot, he answered, "I see. Well, neither are a problem, so you're off the hook. Did you get into trouble?" Talking to her like this was so much easier, where he needn't look at her. It helped a lot, steam began to flow out of the teapot as it worked itself up into a whining fit. Talking to her like this was so much easier, where he needn't look at her. It helped a lot, steam began to flow out of the teapot as it worked itself up into a whining fit. Then he began to pour it into a plain black mug.

"oh no I didn't because of... reasons" Sparkle said kind of embarrassed "and don't ask what reason!" Sparkle said blushing heavily "that's none of your business!" She then realised how angry she sounded compared to normal "sorry I'm just a bit emotionally... confused? right now"

He stepped into the room with a steaming cup of cider and placed it by her side before looking her in the eyes and adding, "I won't lie for you again, okay?" Then lying resting by the fire as well he continued, "I wasn't going to ask, its your business. Not mine." The fire reflected, dancing in his eyes.

"I don't need you to lie for me." Sparkle said before face hoofing with a "I keep doing this! it's exactly like the girls at school warned me about. they called it M.M.S or moody mare syndrome. stupid name I know thought up by some stupid... Luna be damned! I can't stop!"

There is nothing here to be upset about, I consider all of my home above the basement to be purely for relaxing. Let this place calm you." He chuckled, "Listen to me, I sound like a hippie stoner."

A glowing glass of chilled coffee levitated out of the kitchen and to his lips before he said stoically, "You need to calm down. There is nothing here to be upset about, I consider all of my home above the basement to be purely for relaxing. Let this place calm you." He chuckled, "Listen to me, I sound like a hippie stoner."

"I'm not upset it's just stuff that is happening right now stuff that You can't control or that I can't control but I have to deal with it." Sparkle said sipping the cider hoping that drinking might help her with her current problems. it turns out that it didn't and she felt exactly the same just less thirsty.

He looked over to her and smiled, "Well of course I can't help if I don't know what it is. Give me a try, I'm much more versatile than one might think." He hesitantly reached his hoof over and placed it upon hers. Trying to reassure her, although he knew it could be taken differently.

He looked over to her and smiled, "Well of course I can't help if I don't know what it is. Give me a try, I'm much more versatile than one might think." He hesitantly reached his hoof over and placed it upon hers. Trying to reassure her, although he knew it could be taken differently. 

Sparkle went bright red and clearly was interpreting the situation as something completely different to what Sable meant. "w...well then..." she said moving a tad closer to Sable. she stretched her wings upwards to get the last few snow drops off them

He blushed and looked away, withdrawing his hoof and saying nervously, "So, is there something you'd like to share. May-" Breath, "Maybe I can help you out." Captain! We're going down! This whole talk was degrading really quickly, she clearly interpreted his message, understandably, wrong. He blushed and looked away, withdrawing his hoof and saying nervously, "So, is there something you'd like to share. May-" Breath, "Maybe I can help you out." He wasn't going to let this turn into something he so clearly wasn't prepared for. Or so he thought. 

"Sable I'm fine. like completely fine..." Sparkle said. " you do know what M.M.S is a symptom of right? it's something that I can't tell you..." Sparkle put her wings down and one accidentally ended up lying across Sable. Sparkle quickly folded it up to avoid embarrassment

He blushed and chuckled, saying, "Yeah, I think I get it now." Then her wing stretched over him. He shuddered, he'd never been this intimate with any pony before, even if it was just a bunch of accidents. Her feathers were so smooth. "You- You're wings are really nice."

Sparkle's heart leapt out of her chest and into her neck and then mouth (not literally.) "oh...umm. thank-you..." she panicked but she attempted to not show it she had no idea what to say. it was an accident it wasn't meant to happen. well she thought it wasn't. she kept thinking about different things to say back but came up blank each time

This was both good and bad. Things were getting a tad too close, too fast. He looked back to the fire and tried to change the direction of the conversation, "Sooooo, what are your interests?" Yes, saving grace there was a way to salvage this! All he needed to do was stay on track.

"oh Sable deciding that now's the time for small talk? you backwards pony." Sparkle joked. "but yeah mostly tennis or sword fighting... I'm not too good at tennis. then again all ponies have to start somewhere!" (Btw she's still a blank flank until 16) "my parents say I'm a promising sword fighter though... i don't know why..."

"oh... Consideration?" Sparkle said raising an eyebrow. "so what pray tell are you considering about me?" She said slyly inquiring for more information into Sable's thoughts on her. "and be honest. I don't like ponies lying to me about certain things" she said

I'm not sure if its true, but if it is, its shameful." He slumped his head onto the floor, his thoughts exhausting him, groaning in frustration, "Why couldn't I have been born a thoughtless dull witted pony. My life would be so much easier."

I'm not sure if its true, but if it is, its shameful." He slumped his head onto the floor, his thoughts exhausting him, groaning in frustration, "Why couldn't I have been born a thoughtless dull witted pony. My life would be so much easier."

"uhh... no, no it wouldn't be not for me or you. you'd be dumb and unable to do science and I'd be living opposite a possible Jock... my last colt friend was a Jock... he actually forgot my name... stupid son of a... something... anyway i digress. Me being the only mare you know who's in your age range probably isn't the only reason. and anyway you know loads about me. where i live, when i moved, what my parents are like and my interests! "

Face to the floor, "What have I to lose? I mean, maybe you can help me develop as a pony too. It may seem like I have my life well put together, but I am close to nopony anymore." He raised himself and looked to her, "Yes, I think it would be very nice. But on one condition," He leaned in, "Tell me why you came here, of all places." 

"hey that's what I was asking for the entire journey down here." Sparkle said "and I learned something strange... I have found out that my mom is expecting me to have a younger sister... and they wanted her to grow up outside of Canterlot... but my dad seemed like he was hiding something... I don't know what though..."

Then laying his hoof upon hers, this time for a different reason, he blushed and said, "So I guess we are trying this out?" He had hoped that one day he would become closer with somepony, but he just hadn't expected it so soon.

"alright then" Sparkle said as her head lay across Sable's front two hooves. she looked into his eyes and smiled at him once again she couldn't help it "you couldn't have picked better day... " she said referencing that it was heartswarming eve "well... you could've but let's not dwell on that..."
