video Shapeoko 3: Clod Testing

My Shapeoko 3 CNC machine came in the other day and I spent many an hour assembling it. Ran their "Hello World" program which basically just writes out their logo and I thought that was neat and all, but ultimately boring cause I didn't make it. So did a quick and simple Peri vector and ran that to test, for science or whatever. It worked, but I set the zero for the Z axis too low and it made the lines a bit crap cause my pen mount was made of rubber bands XD

This thing isn't really meant for drawing, its a milling machine, cutting woods, plastics, metals, stuff like that. I never planned to get it for drawing stuff out. But because I won't be getting a spindle for it for a few weeks I may see about making a pen mount for the thing and play with making more stuff like this. I have a few ideas on how I might make one with stuff I have around the house.

We'll see.

Now I wish there were more shapeoko art vids...watching it was oddly relaxing... Like ASMR for eyes .-.

Haha, what an interesting take on it.

If I can put together a more stable mount for a pen, then I'll do some more for fun.
