Why is there an Andalusian Amplifier in the castle?

So, in "Starlight Glimmer and the Secret Suite", there's something in Twilight's castle that acts as a secret portal which amplifies magic once a pony enters it. Why would the Tree of Harmony have such a thing in Twilight castle?

For defense perhaps? It amplifies magical power, if say...Ponyville got attacked and needed to be defended, Twilight or some other pony could go in and use it to boost their magic to help ward off the threat.

From what the book seemed to imply, the door to that was created by the Castle responding to Starlight's wishes based on the door seemingly not being there before (which made starlight curious).

So I got the impression that the castle, being linked to the tree of harmony, was actually kind of semi-chaos architecture and could change itself based on its inhabitants desires.

but since Starlight isn't connected to the tree or elements, should that have even been possible? And it's not like she wished for that AA in the first place, but yet it existed in the castle....

Book canon; they'll play fast and loose with stuff to make a plot work.

Also, starlight, despite not having a throne, is more involved with the castle than the other 5 at this point, given how often she interacts with it; I mean, she's not connected to the map either, but she was required to fix it after all.
