Spike's parents

While I think I've gotten over expecting to see them in FiM,  or some exposition of where he came from, I think we can find that much more is detailed about his parents in g1, at least. (The End of Flutter Valley) Spike very briefly mentions, as they are surrounded by Stone backs, that his dad taught him how to snort speak, that Spike proceeds (and fails) to use in communicating with the stone backs.

 

How do you guys think this bit of info on Spike's dad of G1 can influence g4? We know that Spike's quest from g1 was retold in g4, so for those who still wonder on Spike's origins, Can you see any staff picking this one-liner up and giving it it's own g4 episode?

Well, in TheCutie Mark Chronicles (S1 E23) it is explicitly shown that Twilight hatches Spike's egg during her entrance exam for Celestia's school (IMO, this was about 10 years  before the pilot -but that's another thread).  Twilight raises Spike all his life & before the pilot he knows little if anything  about Dragons. Most of his motivation in Dragon Quest is to learn about his Dragon heritage.  (Celestia seems to know some things but she ain't talking (typical))

 

Now  that Spike  is friends with Ember, a background episode for Spike is possible.  In particular "Where did his egg come from?"  However, he has apparently never met his parents, so a direct replay of the G1 story wouldn't work.

 

Of course, given Dragon lifespans, it is possible the G1 Spike was an ancestor of his.
