Best Friends fakeout?

How would the Brony community respond if we got an episode that was a tongue in cheek shot at the "Best Friends" relationship between certain ponies? Say, for instance, we got some literally colorful stallions moving into Ponyville, and they play the "Best Friends" card fairly often, and everyone just naturally assumes they're an item, only to learn later that they're brothers and best friends, but not partners in that way. How would the Brony community respond to a situation such as this, and how it might relate, by extension, to LyraBon??

I would be more concerned with the non-brony reaction. Having a perceived relationship between two males would be making new ground for animation shows but some may not care for it, even in the greater brony fandom, but especially by those who are not fans. I personally wouldn't care but I'm in the minority.
