Forsaken of the Everfree 1x1 with Maple Bat

A few minutes later Fluttershy and Discord came out of the room.

Discord was still half-asleep. He saw Maple first "See I told you she was fine. Is that all I'm up for."

Fluttershy glanced at Jack "no maple wanted to tell us something important."

"That's right I wanted to tell you..." Now that she was about to tell them she got really nervous. She glanced over at Jack not sure if she could do this.

Jack stood up and looked at the 3.

He had a confused look on his face until he realised what she meant by that.

He looked at Maple, giving her a *I don't know what to say* face, making him rather uncomfortable.

Maple stood there awkwardly for a second "I'mgonnaadoptthiscolt." She said really quickly, running the words together.

Both her parents stood there for a second processing what she said. There was a very awkward silence

Fluttershy squealed "Maple that's so exiting" She tackled maple in a hug.

"Oof. Gah!" Maple exclaimed her wound being hit again

"Oh! I'm sorry." Fluttershy said. She saw her wound. "Are you ok?"

"Yea I'm fine just don't hit me like that again." Maple said laughing.

Discord was too tired to process it all immediately.

Jack was bit at loss for words, not knowing how to deal with such situations.

"Yeah, it was her idea after all, and I agree with it." he said.

"I just hope that I can keep control of my dar-" he quickly cut off his own sentence.

"Nevermind."

"Wait..." Discord started "I think I know where that sentence was going. Nah I'm probably wrong. Very good of you Maple."

The 4 of them heard another pony walk up. A Dragonequus appeared who was walking on all fours. "What's all the commotion down here?"

"Oh hey bro!" Maple said seeing her brother "Wanna meet your new nephew."

"Wait... You had a kid?" Woody said blushing.

"NO! I'm adopting the kid he's really talented." Maple returned. "Well I mean it's not official yet we still need to head to canterlot for me to do the paper work. Speaking of we should probably head that way."

Jack lowered his eyes until he noticed Maple's brother.

"Nice to meet you." Jack said towards Woody.

He then looked at Maple.

"We should indeed go, but how are going to get to Canterlot?" He asked.

 

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"Nice too meet you too." Woodland said "Call me Woody. And you guys could just take the train to canterlot. Maple normally flies there since it's so much faster but you're a unicorn..."

"Good idea bro. The train should be getting here soon we can just catch that one." Maple said "Let's go!"

"Bye sis." Woodland said as she walked out the door

Jack nodded as he followed her outside.

They eventually arrived at the train station.

It until 20 minutes later that they boarded the train and headed for Canterlot.

Jack sat down and pulled the hood over his head.

He closed his and tried to get into his meditative state again, his horn glowing slightly.

Maple was wearing her cloak since she was on the train. She was going to comment that they looked up to no good because they where both hiding their identity but jack looked like he wanted some quiet. so she sat in silence for a few minutes.

Suddenly a red tiny spark came from Jack's horn.

He pulled back his hood and looked at her.

"So what are going to be our plans once we arrive at Canterlot? I just want to be sure what I am going to be doing today." he asked her.

"Well I only planned to do the paperwork and head back to ponyville... We could stay a while if you wanted to do or see something." Maple said "Really I'm not busy as long as Luna doesn't need me to show up." Maple was worried people could tell she was a bat pony she pressed her wings against her sides.

"Alright, I don't really have any particular wishes in Canterlot honestly." he admitted.

Eventually, they reached Canterlot after an hour.

"The time went by pretty fast." Jack noted while looking out of the window.

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"Yea it was a rather quiet ride." Maple said waking up from her small nap she secretly took. She walked off the train and looked around the busy streets of canterlot"So where's the orphanage at? Because I don't know my way around here. Usually I come up here to work and that's about it."

"its....."

"Follow me, it is this way."

he said as he walked trough Canterlot.

Some of the nobles looked at him with mixed looks of disgust and curiosity.

Jack just simply glared at them.

Maple noticed the way the more stuck up ponies where treating him. She removed her cloak so the ponies would recognize her as Luna's retainer. So she was basically a high up her self, She leaned close to jack "Now you'll get a bit of recognition." She whispered winking at him.

"Thanks." he with a smile.

It wasn't very long before they reached the Orphanage.

"Here we are."  Jack said with an uneasy feeling.

"Is it ok if I wait outside? I rather have them see me." he said

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"That's ok. I'll be right back out after I finish the work." Maple walked in, and greeted the person working there.

"Hello there." The pony said in a monotone voice. "Can I help you?"

"Yes. I'm looking to fill out paper work to adopt a certain colt" Maple answered

"Here." The pony gave her a pen and seven papers which she'd have to fill out she sat down and started writing

Jack waited outside, occasionally looking around Canterlot.

'Why am I having this weird feeling in my head?' he was thinking to himself

He was still waiting for Maple to come back from the orpanage

Maple finished the paper work the best she could she wasn't necessarily sure what discord's last name was so she put it as shy it also asked for the fathers race and she had to put down other knowing she'd have to explain. But the pony working looked trough it all and stamped approval on it. Handing her the papers back the pony said in a bit of a happy tone "You have a nice day.". Maple smiled and walked out of the orphanage "whelp it's official now."

"Hey, you are back!" Jack said with a smile.

"I was wondering, what will we do now in Canterlot? It would be rather useless to go back to Ponyville after just having arrived such a short time ago." he said

[Maple Bat 3,568]

Maple looked at him disappointingly "Well we have nothing to do here but we could go lo-" Her sentence got cut off when she saw princess Luna "Lady Luna? What are you doing out here." 

"Maple! Thank goodness you're here. We will explain everything in a minute. Quickly we need to get to the castle" Luna told her running back to the castle.

Jack stood there surprised.

"Was that Princess Luna? Wow..."

He quickly got back his bearings.

He then looked a Maple.

"Is it a good idea if I come as well? I don't think I am involved in such high-status things." he said.

"Sure. Don't see a reason why not." Maple said "It's just a meeting for now. So it shouldn't be too dangerous." She motioned for Jack to follow her as she ran a bit slower than her top speed ,so he could keep up, towards the castle. What could be so bad Luna came looking for me? She thought.

They eventually arrived at the Castle, guards were stationed at a bigger amount of then normal

'Must be a security measure.' Jack thought.

It was then that they were getting close to the throne room at this point.

When Maple walked in not only was Luna there but also 'Tia, Shining armor, and Cadence too.

"Maple!" Shining Armor said "I'm so glad to see you here."

Maple switched to her serious tone of voice. "Right I could tell somethings wrong but seeing you here has made it a lot worse."

Luna walked over to Maple. "Who might that be?"

"Oh his name's Jack." Maple said "I just adopted him and he'll probably join 'Tia's guard if he keeps growing as he has been. I mean if he wants to of course."

Celestia hated Maple calling her 'Tia all the time "Well I guess we'll see about that then."
