GoldenGumdrop 164 June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 First of all, if you haven't seen the film and want to see it this might have spoilers. I have been waiting for a Wonder Woman film for about six years now when the idea was first pitched and Joss Stone was involved in the project. I've been a Wonder Woman fan for quite a time especially since watching the Linda Carter 70s series and Justice League. I must say, I am crying happy tears with how pleased I am with the film! It sticks pretty close to Wonder Woman's origin story and Gal Gadot is a great choice as Wonder Woman. Gal is independent, powerful, but also feminine and naive to an extent. I was curious if they would have WW fly in her invisible jet or just fly, but the compromise of her "jump flying" was well done. I must say I was not expecting Aries to be who it turned out to be and the battle between WW and Aries was epic. WW used her lasso, bracelets, strength, speed, and intelligence. It diverted slightly by having it set in WWI rather than WWII but I can see either one working just as well except since WW's costume is based on the American flag it might have worked better to have her working with the Americans in WWI. I did enjoy the nod to Batman/Bruce Wayne (yes I ship WW and BM). I also enjoyed seeing golden age characters that usually are left out including Etta Candy, and I actually prefer her in the movie's role rather than the golden age role. The WW film managed to balance hope, despair, and finally justice in a wonderful way. WW doubts herself and really doubts her mission and has to learn to understand the shades of grey issue but that human beings are capable of great good. I'm impressed with how they kept close to the original storyline written by Maurston and was surprised in a good way to see Dr, Poison included in this firm. Dr. Poison was the first villain WW faces and it isn't revealed until much later that Dr. Poison is in fact, female. The way they set up Themiscarya was on point and how I imagined the island of the Amazons to look. It's great to see they included the warrior Amazons training. All in all, blown away, so, so happy as a die-hard Wonder Woman fan! Proud Pegasister and Dog Mom!
GiFTGewEhrSCHutzen-4 8,833 June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 Spoiler I had a blast watching this movie! My favorite scene, which also gave me feels, in the trench scene were Diana takes on the Jerries, and soon the other Allied soldiers follow her. Best scene ever IMO.
