Ember retailated the hit with several quick hits to the chest followed by one very powerful uppercut.

"Even so," Maple commented to Jack "Ember's still got a lot of fight left in her as well, This is gonna be good." Maple said watching.

"Agreed, knowing Ember she might even surpass him as time goes on, but we will see eventually," Jack said, not wanting to take his eyes off the battle.

Betamor stumbled a little back from the uppercut but stood his ground quickly again.

"I have been waiting for such a challenge since a very long time, but I know you still have alot of fight you, and so do i. I think we will have to take further if we want a conclusion." He said with a smile.

He started clenching his fist so hard that blood started to come from it, but it was not from anger, but from pure enjoyment, as his thirst for battle was increasing to a big amount.

He started charging her again, but this time with an double-handed blow straight at the side of her chest.

Ember was started by the sudden attack and didn't have time to get out of the way. After the attack hit she got knocked away almost falling outside the ring but she had lost the breath in her lungs and was breathing heavily.

Woody flinched when he saw that "Oh... She's done for..."

Betamor was looking at her carefully.

But instead of knocking her out of the ring, he did something totally unexpected.

"You have gained my respect deeply, it doesn't happen often when I consider someone my equal, but you have become one without a doubt. I entered this competition to fight someone very strong, and you managed to deliver that to me without a moment of hesitation. This fight is what I had been hoping for, but I do not care for a title, I forfeit" Betamor said as he walked up to her.

"Save the rest of the strength for your next match, you are gonna need it." he said to her as he gave her a strong pat on the back before walking out of the ring.

"A rather interesting turn of events, but since Betamor has decided to forfeit, the victory goes to Ember!" Karthspire said.

Ember looked disappointed "Ah come on... You didn't have to do that... I was hoping for quite the fight." She sounded just as disappointed as she looked

"Well That didn't last long." Woody commented "Honestly I wouldn't have expected that at all."

"Hey, you are gonna have a bigger fight soon, and besides. We might as well hold an entire fight dedicated to us alone the other time, where we are not bound by rules, doesn't that sound better?" Betamor said with a smile.

"Don't see this as a bad thing, see this as a favour, I don't care much for the title when this competition is over just come visit me on the other time and we will settle this in an even better way." he said.

"I can't wait." He said with a small smirk before he left.

"Didn't last long? It lasted longer than the other 2 battles, and I can only summarize there was a purpose behind it. Besides... We are going to see even bigger battles soon, there is something beyond the constant thrills and entertainment, there is the code of honour, it doesn't always have to be preserved by winning." Jack said as he shook his head.

"That was an.. interesting conclusion so to say, anyways. Our next participant has not arrived yet, so we are taking a small break until he arrives." Karthspire announced.

Woody shook his head and pointed at his one good eye "I was talking about that 'Ruakan blood strength' thing. Figured Ember wouldn't have gotten hit that quickly but I guess she won anyway." He shrugged "Well something tells me this last one's going to be good since there are no equestrian fighters left."

"Yea," Maple acknowledged "Seeing as Star and Windphaser both didn't enter. I'm excited to see what they've got."

Luna chucked "I should've known that you'd be excited."

"I think Betamor was actually going to continue at first but then realised what was going to happen, had he continued fighting to Ember in that state, he could have wounded her to a state where she would be unable to properly fight her next battle. Because where Eldritch have magic and Terrans have perfected instincts, Raukan have this sort of trait that whenever they get hurt, they get this burst, and the more damage that is inflicted upon them, the more it gets stronger, to a point where they would get more aggressive and almost tireless from the adrenaline rushes that constantly seem to arise in that state. It's a good thing when a Raukan is able to stop this is as some get trapped in this state, and have trouble controlling their own lust for battle. I think it was a flaw that all of them got from Uriel Raukan himself." Jack said.

  "By the way, Maple, how strong would you gauge yourself against Evelyn, and I rather want to hear your real measurement, no boasting involved." Jack asked her, curious how a battle between them would turn out.

"Well all you're going to get from Maple is boasting" Woody quickly intercepted "If I was to say anything about it they'd be extremely close match between the two with Maple eventually out on top, however, something tells me that Evelyn's got a bit more than she's shown so far if she had an electric attack she'd win easily."

"Hey! Not cool!" Maple said

"What," Woody responded defensively "It's true."

"Thanks, Woody, and yes I do agree, I guess it's going to be interesting in the end. I will be cheering for both tough." Jack said.

"Do not take it the wrong way though, but I also want to give Evelyn a chance." Jack whispered in Maple's ear.

 

Suddenly the door got kicked open, and the masked figure entered the arena.

"Hold on, you didn't tell me what he was the 8th participant!" Zakir hissed to Karthspire.

"I wanted to keep it a secret, some would get afraid of participating if his name was mentioned, and I guess it's not fair to deny him for a chance of keeping his title?" Karthspire said, in which, Zukir just growled to himself.

 

"It seems our participant has arrived, and so it will be Xaxir against Velorn." He announced.

Velorn was a Terran, and he had a dark tan coat. He was wearing some sort of metal spiked knuckles.

Xaxir who was now standing on the opposite side of him in the ring was not equipped with any weapon, deciding to use his bare fist instead.

Festus growled a bit seeing that masked stranger again "Him?! He was stalking me and ember earlier..."

"How is that possible? He was in the barracks earlier and he's the one that scared me to the point I called for help." Woody explained "I was really scared..."

"It's ok to be scared Woodland," Luna said "Your sister can protect you if need be. I'm curious who that is as well."

It was when the 2 were facing each other, that that the starting word rang out. "Begin!"

Velorn was waiting for his opponent to make a move, but Xaxir was standing still like a statue almost, only his tail sometimes moving a bit.

After a while, Velorn had enough and started charging his opponent, he tried to kick him straight in the head with a sideways kick, but the only thing Xaxir did was bent his neck to a pretty far back distance, which caused the kick to miss.

Velorn then tried to punch Xaxir, but to his utter confusion, Xaxir had shoved the hand away before it could hit, making it fly to the right.

Now angered, Velorn tried to make a double-handed hammer fist straight above Xaxir's head.

But then he suddenly let out a painful gurgle as he Xaxir had punched him very deep in the stomach, which caused Velorn to grasp his stomach in pain, he kneeled down as he was trying to breathe.

Xaxir was just staring at his opponent and was giving him all the time to recover.

When Velorn finally stood up again, he was furious.

"That does it!!" He shouted as he tried to attack again, but this time Xaxir went really fast into action, he jumped and made a 90-degree rotation in the air as he kicked straight at the bone joint of Velorn that was keeping the shoulder and arm connected.

Velorn as crying out in pain as his right arm was now broken, and was giving off an eerie look.

Xixir pointed to the sand outside the ring, indicating for Velorn to forfeit, but Velorn was still screaming a bit as he was grasping his shoulder.

Seeing as this fight was not going to last much longer, Xixir decided to end it as he uppercutted Velorn straight and very high in the air outside the ring, where he was literally now dangling through the air, the uppercut itself had an unnatural force to it as it had been performed.

Maple looked at the opponent interested, "Well I hope I get to fight them first..."

Woody looked at Maple like she was crazy, "You'd be torn apart if you did why would you want that!"

Maple laughed "Not really I know now what I'm up against so I know what to expect and how to beat it.

"That's... not necessarily how it works..." Woody said his expression changing from wonderment to bad memories.

"I don't think that will be case Maple, I mean, he beat him in just 3 attacks. And by looking at him, he did not show any sort of fighting style except for fast but very few punches and kicks, the only specific thing I saw is when he was aiming for the arm bone joint, but other than that, I could not gather much from it." Jack said with a frown.

"You will be head to head with Evelyn Maple, but you stand no chance against this guy. None of you might be aware but I have been sensing weird stuff from that guy." Jack admitted.

He looked as Velorn crashed straight into the ground, even beyond the sand wich he crashed straight into the stone floor, he was totally out cold as there was blood all over the floor.

"Nobody tried to catch him in mid-air, at least some injury could have been avoided if anyone even bothered," Jack muttered to himself with a bit of irony.

"Zukir, please get a medic for Velorn, he is not in a very good shape," Karthspire said.

"And you really think it's a good idea to keep HIM in this tournament? I am aware you believe in potential but there is a good chance one of the participants could end up DEATH if this goes on that guy! He is a filthy-" He was however interrupted.

"Did I just hear you talk down on him because of his origins?" Karthspire said with an aggressive tone.

"No, I am referring to what-"

"You are underestimating him greatly, you are presuming facts by his behaviour and appearance, but if you had been at the evacuation before the destruction of Raukan, you would be aware of what they are, it is only by the opinions and distrust of others that they are viewed to a point what they are not, they are so much more. But I wouldn't expect others to know, you carry a few iconic and important moments with you from the past and the newer generations forget them like they are nothing. It is a reason to wallow in the past because others are too incompetent to even care. Most believe that by sheer determination and force we may win this war, but no, but that is not going to cut it." Karthspire said a bit angered.

"Do I have to tell you this story many more times Zukir? If there is one thing that angers me, it is when you condemn someone for the actions of an entire group, I will NOT allow these rumours to constantly emerge, am I clear?" Karthspire said with an angry undertone.

"Yes, I do." Zukir said calmly, surprised by the sudden outburst.

"Good, ask someone else to get a medic while you preparing Evelyn for the match, I need a bit.." Karthspire as he went outside, almost breaking the door apart when he went outside which caused the nearby guards to reel back in surprise.

Maple sighed a bit "Well... I mean if he was to do something similar to me, I'd beat it because I'm not as susceptible to damage as someone else is."

Woody had this look of realization "Oh! I should have helped him! I'll go try to heal him but It's been a little while since I used this magic but it's the least I could do for him since I should have tried to catch him." Woody then proceeded to walk away from the others.

Luna looked at the masked person "I sense that energy too Jack... I'm not sure what it is but I feel it, You asked me in the park if I had seen anyone 'odd' well this would be the closest thing to that I can think of."

"But that is the problem Maple, you should not rely to much on the strength of your current body, you are right regarding being not susceptible to damage but.. did you see how far he punched that guy? Call me crazy but i have just not had a good feeling about it, it was the same guy i saw before twice." Jack said.

"It just weird, i have been sensing some crazy things from that person, and even felt a slight increase the moment he uppercutted his opponent, but then it vanished as quickly as he came. Normally i would be able to detect magic if i concentrate from such distances, but what i sense doesn't feel like magic, since then his body would give out this energy in the first place." Jack said to Luna.

"Maple, I know you are strong and very talented, but for once... please drop this self-confidence and listen to me, you have a few techniques with your robot body and good tactics regarding your experiences, but we don't know anything about that guy, and relying so much on your current self is going to prove very bad against such unpredictable opponents, because they can suddenly pull out crazy methods that we were not aware of. Just... please be careful if you face him, I have seen many unique individuals in my 13 years, and this guy is among that bunch." Jack said with a sigh.

Zukir eventually came back after doing something important.

"Alright, due to something happening, Karthspire is currently not here but will return soon, but for now, could all the 4 remaining participants gather around? The semi-finals are about to begin, and we are going to decide who will face who." Zukir said.

Maple nodded to Jack "Alright... You're right but I do have some ideas on how to beat him so I've got strategy with me too. Anyways wish me luck." She spread her wings and flew down landing in the sand at the edge of the arena.

Ember walked over to the ring as well, she had recovered fully most of the hit just knocked the breath out of her anyways.

Lastly, Evelyn walked onto the field staring at Maple not moving her gaze off her even with that masked stranger there as well, "I know this is a bit out of place." She said loudly "But I'd like to go up against the yellow one first."

"You are in luck because that is what Karthspire had intended before he left, so this will come to pass." Zukir said.

"That means the other 2 participants, please step out of the ring while the chosen 2 are going to fight against each other." he said.

As the 2 the others were leaving, the masked warrior was walking past Zukir, but when he was close, he gave a silent stomp straight into Zukir's eye, before casually walking away, in which Zukir deeply growled.

"Alright, Maple and Evelyn please stand ready." Zukir said.

It was at this moment that Karthspire walked back in again, his mood becoming better as he saw the 2 were going to fight.

"Start!"

Evelyn wasted no time on this she rushed Maple quickly aiming at Maple's wings with her claws "Let's see how strong that body really is!"

Maple saw that coming and moved out of the way, counter-attacking Evelyn hitting her side. Drawing a small amount of blood "Let's!" Both fighters closed in rapidly and started striking at each other each of their slashes at the other was blocked by the other every time a strike was blocked created a loud *tang* sound. The two were perfectly matched.

After a while of this, however, there was a loud *clang* followed by loud scrape, and a few sparks of electricity. Maple had gotten hit pretty bad in the back, however, Evelyn too had taken a few painful hits the dragon, however, was exhausted. Maple opened her wings and flew straight into Evelyn pushing her but Evelyn held against her. "You're pretty good... I'll give you that but this is where it ends."

Maple agreed silently, she spun in the air and kicking with full force knocking Evelyn away from her. "I... May have overdone it... a little." She said worried about her opponent.

"It's like I imagined, they both are head to head on a similar level, this has been a good fight so far, tough Maple has the advantage here since she doesn't suffer from fatigue, unlike her opponent. But Evelyn is holding a trump card as well because I doubt this fight will be over from the way those 2 are fighting." Jack said as he looked closer.

Just hope that we can at least do something about the repairs while we are in this city for Maple." Jack reminded them.

Karthspire had been standing there, watching the battle with great interest.

Jack was correct Evelyn had a trump card one she was waiting to use.

Both the fighters went into the air and started to clash again but this time Evelyn flipped over one of Maple's attacks and smacked the metal bat with her tail following it up with frost breath.

Maple hit the ground and stood up but her systems in her legs froze she couldn't even break the ice with the hooves. Evelyn then walked up to Maple slowly "I told you... Mechanical strength has weaknesses... You're nowhere near my le- Oof" She got hit in the face with Maples hoof

Maple had managed to free herself "Never take your eyes off your opponent." She roared

What? She's smart... This is gonna be fun Evelyn thought as she and Maple started attacking each other again. Both fighters put a huge cut across each other's chests. and they both backed away from each other.

Woody had returned to the stands He was tired from magic use "Velorn's ok... Anyways... What'd I miss?"

"Maple and Evelyn are getting toe to toe with each other, it's amazing to see 2 individuals fight like this." Jack said with a smile.

"Good job by the way with helping Velorn, he must have been in a pretty bad shape, the way his arm was bent kinda scared me to be honest." Jack said

The masked warrior was watching them with great precision, his head almost moving like some sort of turret as he was constantly following their movements.

As this was happening while the other 2 participants were standing a bit further outside the ring.

Evelyn decided to freeze Maple again but she'd need an opening, one like that was hard to make with a gouge in your chest...

Maple wasn't tired though mostly because she couldn't feel the pain in her chest she drop kicked Evelyn in the chest knocking her back she started to get up from her attack.

Evelyn took this as her chance and froze her as she got up "This... Fight is over!" Evelyn rose off the ground with her front claws and started to fall onto Maple aimed at her damaged chest.

Woody panicked seeing what was about to happen "S... She's going to kill her!" Woody screamed as he flew down to the arena "Stop! Don't hurt her!" He pleaded moving in front of Maple.

At that point, Evelyn gently set herself on the ground and looked at Karthspire a bit confused.

Karthspire looked with a raised eyebrow at the spectacle.

"Woody, would you please be so kind to get off the arena? Evelyn would not resort to murder in this fight because if she did, she would face the consequences." Karthspire said with a stern tone as he walked forward.

Karthspire gave a nod to Zukir, who in turn led Woody off the stage.

He then looked at the 2 participants who were fighting in the ring.

"I am going to handle this accordingly. None of you move until this has been cleared up. Maple do you decide to forfeit or continue the battle? If you decide to continue, then we will wait for a few seconds when those are over, then you 2 are allowed to move again, I am not going to give out unfair advantages because of an interruption." Karthspire stated while looking at them.

Jack looked at the spectacle with a bit of confusion.

"What is going on? I don't understand?" He asked to the others who where sitting close.

Maple looked at the fear in Woody's eyes. "I'll Forfeit." She said "Sorry about my brother. I'll talk with him about what's going on. But I think it's bad

Woody looked at maple for a second and remember that she wasn't a 'real' pony anymore. "Thank you Maple..." He said walking off with her.

Festus was confused too "I... Guess that Woody thought Maple was scared and his instincts kicked in, He didn't want Maple to get hurt anymore."

"You are correct Festus," Luan agreed "Woodland simply panicked... though at what exactly I don't understand why Maple's effectively immortal as long as the core it's self-doesn't get destroyed."
