Maple stood up quickly "No way!" Maple said when Jack spoke, "Someone has to do something!"

"Maple wait!" Woody said but Maple had already gone down to the arena Woody wanted to go down too but wasn't sure if he could fight in his current state.

Luna stood and moved over to Jack instinctually shielding him "I'm not letting this happen again."

Ember Took a leap back "Wow ok... did not expect that." Seh braced herself for more fighting with her shield.

Evelyn, From the room, she was in heard all the commotion and an outside to see what was happening, Whey she saw that mark Seh stormed to the arena landing at the same time as Maple "Bat..."

"Dragon..." They locked eyes for a second and both smiled As they attacked the stranger in unison.

The stranger fired off some sort of shockwave from his right that blew the 3 straight off the ring. While he was looking around, he stared at Karthspire.

A flow and hatred swept through the stranger as words seemed to flow out of his energies since he was not able to speak.

"Traitor."  he muttered as he started firing thin beams from his fingers at Karthspire, some of them went straight to his kneecaps as other beams went through his shoulders, while some went straight through his chest.

It made the situation that Zukir was not even there at the time as he had been busy trying to calm down the population.

Maple and Evelyn flew by Ember and they both hit the stranger in the chest "Alright I don't know what you're doing here but I don't appreciate this attack." Evelyn said

"Just who are you!" Maple shouted, "Did you have anything to do with my mothers disappearance?!"

Woody had seen the beams and flew over to Karthspire knocking him down by tackling him, He hadn't meant to do that but it worked sorta He was outta sight now at least "Hey are you ok? I can help if you need it." He said in a bit of panic, he'd thought the place was safe but I guess not

"I would have no interest in your species, I am here for the leader of this city, all traitors must be expunged. Now you would be wise not to interfere, but I see no reason why any of you would defend him in the first place." The stranger said with malice.

"Yes kid I am fine, but don't worry about me, you can help by getting the crowd out of this building, that is the main priority. and I am not taking no for an answer." Karthspire said as he grunted a bit.

"Traitor? To who? You?" Evelyn returned "To us, He's been a great leader and nothing less."

Maple scoffed "Life is to be protected. Even if someone has to die... Pretty ironic now that I think about it. But I'm gonna protect these people with my own life."

Hearing Maple's determination Evelyn doubted her first assumtions further "I'll freeze him you attack" She whispered before moving away from Maple and breathing her frost breath on the ground as she had several times.

After Maple saw the ice form she dashed with her rockets to hit the attacker as hard as she could.

"Well Let's get you out of here then." Woody said trying to pick up Karthspire. "You're part of the crowd to, Please just come with me. These people aren't those you want to mess with nor be around in general." Woody pleaded trying to drag him out of the arena.

The stranger as guarded himself as the ice breath hit, which froze some parts of him.

And when Maple hit him, there was a crack within his body from the impact, the ice was broken apart and he and Maple were heading for the wall.

He noticed this and gathered energy in his hand, in which he punched straight at Maple's plating, which allowed him to jump out of her grasp as he landed back in the ring with a loud thud.

He stared at Evelyn with his empty face, but a purple aura started surrounding him as he started firing weird kind of blast all over the building, the purpose of it was unknown.

Jack was looking at the events with wide eyes. 'Damn, why is this always happening?' Jack tough with confusion and anger.

Maple hit the wall putting a hole in it and she bust through it again. Her chest plating was almost completely broken but she wasn't gonna be stopped by that.

Evelyn just looked at the attacker "So... Why are you attacking Hearthspire? I'd really like to know. Might even stop attacking if it's a good enough reason."

Luna was carefully watching the events "Festus. Go help the citezens get away from here. With Maple and Evelyn handling that odd... person it shouldn't be too hard for you."

"Y... Yes Princess." He said as he flew off.

"He and some others have witnessed things that are not supposed to be seen by the eyes of physical beings, but when he refused to join us, he is compromising our secrets with his refusal. Walking with our secrets intact is a grave offence and punishable by extermination. No matter the conclusion, none of us will allow him to breathe any longer, one way or another, he MUST die.." The stranger said

Jack did not know if he could stand it all just happening, he then looked around a bit, until he saw his fathers artefact that Woody had left in the spectator seats.

'Wait a second, he brought the artefact with him, which means I have an idea... If only my father could see me pulling off one of his signature attacks, killing that thing is almost impossible if it has no real physical body but.. it was a good thing I read that diary I found in the temple, because I found their one weakness, perhaps no one here can replicate this method by any means, but I have the magic that is MEANT for this spell..' Jack thought.

He ran past Luna as he grabbed the artefact and started heading straight close to the ring.

'Good, if the others can keep him distracted long enough, then it's going to work. I might not be able to kill him, but what I can do is SEAL him away!" Jack said as he sat the artefact down and started focusing his mind.

Both Maple and Evelyn had the same reaction they both charged him from the front and back dashing by him both of them hitting him in the side with their claws as they passed by him. Maple, however, had hit second and pinned the stranger. "Enough! No information should be hidden from everyone.Now relax... Or else." Maple's claws were very close to the stranger's neck.

"You don't really know much our bodies, do you? Allow me to give you a good hint, you can't kill something that is technically not a real person." The stranger emitted with a small laugh.

Those weird beams he had fired in the air before, had actually been hidden in the air, and now suddenly revealed themselves as they started firing thunder strikes everywhere throughout the arena, but some of them were specifically aimed at Maple and Evelyn as some of them striked.

While this was going on, Jack was done reading his spell.

"Maple! Evelyn! Get out of the way!!" he shouted as he aimed his spell.

As the 2 were out of the way, he fired, it a white beam went straight out of his hands that was heading straight for the stranger.

But to Jack's dismay, the stranger was holding his spell back with his spell back with his own powers, which were far stronger than Jack's current attack.

"Damn it!!!" Jack yelled as he started putting all of his magic into this one spell, but despite the increase, he was still way to underpowered.

"Guys, shoot at him, ranged attacks, but do NOT  get close to the beam!" He shouted as he was sliding a bit back from the force.

After dodging Evelyn got hit by one of the strikes, If she wasn't a dragon she would have died but the energy didn't enter he bad thanks to the scales, she was only blown away by it.

After seeing what he was doing Maple grabbed the stranger and held him in something close to a full nelson. "Come on Just do it, Jack." She said to herself, She just had to wait for his attack to get close to them

Luna stepped above Jack lending her power to him so he could do whatever his plan was.

'Good Maple, your robot body should make you immune for this beam. I am perhaps also glad that it doesn't involve you or me dying over this..' Jack thought with a little irony over what the 2 of them had tried in some cases.

He then let the increased powers he got by Luna to break the final push of the struggle as the strange as was having trouble trying to keep up such a powerful struggle and get Maple off him at the same time.

When the beam hit, the stranger suddenly started to malfunction like crazy as its body was torn apart, proving it only to be a shell of something deeper that was thrust straight into the Artefact.

While he had fired the beam, he had quickly redirected it in such a way so that Maple would not get injured by the force of the attack. (Much to his relief he didn't damage her.)

When the attack was over Jack just stood there panting with a scowl, until he fell face plant on the floor from exhaustion.

Maple hit the ground gently, seeing as Luna was with jack she had something to priotize now "Evelyn!" Maple said running over to her "Are you ok?"

Evelyn got up "Yea... I'm fine..." She said standing up, a few of her scales crubbled off of her. Both of them jumped.

"Well that's what happenes when lightning hits scales I guess... Let's get outta here." Maple said helping evelyn leave the now crumbling arena.

Luna caught Jack before he completely fell down "Good job, You did it, Jack." Luna said embracing him. "I'm so proud."

Karthspire came walking back in with Zukir who he was leaning against.

"We all owe you a great debt, that is guaranteed, It's not easy to take out a full-fledged Blood cult Warrior. But nonetheless, this will never be forgotten." Karthspire said with a smile.

 

"Thanks, but I did have good from those 2." Jack said with a weak smile, referencing to Maple and Evelyn.

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"It really was no... nothing." Maple gliched apparently she brushed it off not too worried "Perhaps... you could thank me with a mechanic?" She said as she chuckled nervously.

"Do scales grow back..." Evelyn said to herself. "Crap... That lighting literally burned the who thing off."

Ember turned to her "They do. Just takes a long while trust me." She finished saying as she walked away

"They may have helped but you're the one who did it, Be a little less modest from time to time you need to learn when to not be modest." Luna said still hugging him "I'm still just so glad you knew how to react to the situation!"

"You are right, but even all of my accomplishments are rather shallow compared to everyone else here, it's not like I will be praised and remembered for my actions like some hero." Jack said with a small smile.

"I hate to break the moment, but we still have something, in particular, we have to discuss," Karthspire said to Luna and Jack, mentioning towards Evelyn, which they what he was referring to.

"Right, What exactly were you meaning to talk about? Did your men find our friend?" Luna asked so she could be sure, "Because while this place is nice I would much rather get off this planet, Our friend would too I know for certain."

Evelyn looked at Maple "Ya know... I didn't give you enough credit you're almost as strong as I am and I've never met someone that capable. The body just furthers your own strength. I can see now that you use it for good reason. You have my respect."

"Thanks." Maple nodded response "You're pretty good too. I'll admit it you really had me during our fight, I almost gave up anyways but then my brother stepped in but I don't mind he did. Shows he cares."

"What I am referring to is in preparation for finding and saving your friend, and I think you might remember our discussion from earlier. I wanted Jack and Evelyn to team up in this particular mission, its nothing too dangerous though, it's about attacking an outpost, because they might have in fact transmissions stored between their bases about your friend's capture, and you know who is the only one who is capable of hacking straight into those codes? Jack, because he is only the one among us who had been imprisoned in the demon realm, and knows their inscriptions in the top of his head by now, there is no doubt about that." Karthspire said.

"Yes, that is actually true." Jack admitted.

"Of course others are allowed to join this mission as well, but I rather have the of them to be the ones who get into that base while the others guard their flanks from outside the base to prevent enemies from rushing inside. I trust that this is alright?" Karthspire said.

He then turned his head to one of the guards.

"Could you bring Maple to one of the mechanics? And no delays! She is in critical condition." Karthspire ordered, in which the soldier saluted and quickly ran to Maple, guiding her to the mechanics.

"It would be best to have one of her children go in there to rescue her, I'd think," Luna commented "Of course there's windphaser too who needs to face his fatehr whether or not he wins. I'm willing to follow any sort of plan that you may create, Karthspire, And you will find my sister will too."

AFter the soldier showed up Maple sighed "Thanks, took a little bit but whatever."

"I had already promised Windphaser to get the honours, and for saving Fluttershy, that would only be fitting if it is the family who does the job right?" He said with a smile.

"Now that we have got that settled we might need to make a small introduction, Evelyn come over here for a second, you have been rather quiet over there." Karthspire cal

Evelyne looked up, She'd been lost for a bit "Sorry... Lost in thought. Hello, Jack." She said with a nod and a slight bow, "It's an honor to meet someone of your kind since there are so few of you. You already know my name I believe."

Luna smiled "Well if you're the one to protect Jack I'll have no worries, It's as if I'm sending him with Maple because you two are just as strong as each other." She smiled "Glad that's out of the way."

Jack was a little surprised as he was not used to anyone addressing him in such a special way. "It's nice to meet you to Evelyn, I did enjoy the match by the way." Jack said with a smile.

 

"I am going to be away for a bit, some of our engineers have been reverse engineering some sort of technology and are integrating it into a set of specific armour, it's a good thing that it is almost done since it has been specifically made for this mission." Karthspire said as he walked away for a moment.

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"Thank you." Evelyn replied "You seem to pick pretty strong friends, Maple had a lot of fight left when her brother interrupted I could tell. Though we're allies so I'm not going to ask her to fight again. If she does is a different story."

 

Luna looked at Karthspire "I best go with you. I need to make sure Maple isn't falling apart, She is one my captains after all so she's needed back home." Luna quickly followed Karthspire leaving Jack under Evelyn's care

"I actually ran into them 5 months ago when I first escaped, and I was incredibly lucky at that. But I am sure she would want to fight sometime." Jack said with a smile.

"This might be an odd question, but how fast could you fly at your maximum speed?" Jacked asked her with intrigue.

"You do that, if you feel like staying a bit longer with her then go ahead, I only needed to pick up something real fast from this place but then I am returning back to the others," Karthspire said as he walked inside the building started talking with some of the mechanics.

"Lucky is an extreme understatement given how valuable you are to the enemy." Evelyn said "You could have easily ended up somewhere so much worse. Anyways, I'm not entirly sure on the speed thing, But I can tell you it's really fast."

Luna walked in "Maple?" she said at a decent volume

"Over here." Maple responded from another room. Luna heard the voice and followed it.
