Regarding Sunset Shimmer

Feather Scribbles

Recommended Posts

I am currently writing a fanfic, and I need some info...

Imagine I was in the library next to Sunset Shimmer and the Rainbooms and I overheard Sunset talking about the other students who hate her... I would then (and I would) turn to her and say, "Don't be so hard on yourself. What you did was in the past, and your past does not define you. It may take a while, but everyone here will slowly come to accept you... I already have. I genuinely, honestly forgive you, Sunset... and I'm not just saying that because your friends are right here beside us. I always believe in second chances. I see the hostile, hurtful looks everyone gives you at CHS, and well, although you could make the argument that you deserve it, eventually enough is enough... That's why I've decided to step in now. I see you for who you truly are... a person with a cool personality and a kind heart... That I can tell, even though I don't know you personally. I just want you to know that... everything will work out in the end, and if you ever need someone to talk to and to get something off your chest... you can always come find me. I'm always happy to help and to support you... Okay?"

The question is... How do you think she would react? Genuinely? "Canon-wise"?

Sunset’s character is hard to pin down post reformation because of how she was thrust into the hero role previously occupied by Twilight. That said, there are a few things about her personality to keep in mind. She’s very level headed, and the only time we see her get emotional are during very emotional moments. Depending on her relationship with this unnamed and unknown character, I could see her being very greatful or very confused, but not very emotional.

So... would there be any logical scenario in which she would not be as confused or would feel "less uncomfortable"? Just curious.

If she knew someone as well as the rainbooms, or if she asked that person herself why they weren’t mad at her. If it’s sprung at Sunset out of the blue, I think confusion or uncertainty is more likely. Doubly so if she doesn’t really know the person.

Hmm... fair point. You seem quite knowledgeable, so... would it be alright if I sent you the profile for my character? (He is my persona, really.) I just want to know that if the Rainbooms met him, what their genuine thoughts would be of him. :P
