Fancy Swirl prototype ponies

These g1 prototype ponies have intrigued me since I became aware of the campaign the g1 fans have tried to do toward the Basic Fun company, to get them into production. Their names are  Swirlabout (blue), Pearlshine (pinky-purple with teal hair), Mistyglow (white with pink hair) and Starswirl (pink on pink).

I've always wondered what powers these ponies might've had, if they were created. Perhaps they are linked with the great Star Pegasus or the Great Star Unicorn, who was seen in the g1 comic "Moonstone's Midnight Adventure"?
