2020 Football Wild Card Weekend

Well everybody we’re about to enter the playoffs.  Where the real excitement and high stakes happen.  Sorry Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals, you didn’t:P make it.

But first let’s highlight the good thing.

:pinkie:NO PATRIOTS:pinkie:

That’s right folks, football’s Evil Empire failed to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 season.  Meaning Patriot fans are stuck at home on the couch eating junk food drowning in tears complaining:mlp_yeehaa:

Since the Pats are not in the playoffs, that means...

Congrats to the Buffalo Bills:mlp_smug: clinching the AFC East for the first time since 1995.

And as for the NFC East...

:(EAGLES DIED:(

And we had to wait for two other lousy dominoes to fall:okiedokieloki:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back in the playoffs:catface: for the first time since 2007.  While they may be stuck on the road for the entire playoff journey, don’t feel down Florida pirate fans, you have Tom Brady:squee: and his partying pal Rob Gronkowski:-D, what’s NOT to like about that?

There’s a good reason for the :Thorax:Washington Football Team:Thorax: to be worried when they host Tom Brady.  Even the incredible journey that QB Alex Smith has been through.

What you should be happy about is the playoff format has now expanded to involve 14 teams.  7 in both conferences and the number 2 seeds unfortunately have their extra week taken away.  Meaning we’ve got 6 wild card NFL games.

Seattle Seahawks clinched their division for the first time since 2016.  But their stadium may be empty due to the pandemic.  Ditto for the New Orleans Saints.  The Green Bay Packers however are allowing fans in Lambeau Field.

Raise your hand if you’re annoyed that the Pittsburgh Steelers:unamused: are back in the playoffs.

Below is the playoff arrangement for January 9th and 10th

AFC Wild Card Games

Colts vs. Bills (CBS)

Browns vs. Steelers (NBC)

Ravens vs. Titans (ABC and ESPN)

NFC Wild Card Games

Bears vs. Saints (CBS)

This game above will also air on Nickelodeon, that’s right, a kids’ network is airing:wau: a full NFL game for the first time.

Rams vs. Seahawks (FOX)

Buccaneers vs. :Thorax:Washington Football Team:Thorax: (NBC)

As for the Chiefs (the defending Super Bowl champs) and the Packers (funny how those 2 were contenders for the very first Super Bowl) have both locked up the number 1 seed, meaning those two get an extra week off and watch those 12 other playoff teams wage war:sneer:

Hoping Green Bay (my favorite team) can go far and not blow it in the playoffs this year, Nothing but playoff failures from them in the past 10 years.

As for other teams, I want to see the Bills and Browns go far this season, they've had to deal with so much failure for so many years.
