How did you find MLP Forums?

How you became a fan of My Little Pony

Tbh I'm not really a fan. With that said I would like to watch the show and possibly join this community. Why did I randomly choose to try to join? Well it's very simple I was on YouTube watching random videos per usual and I came across a video describing what a brony is. The first thought that came into my brain was what draws so many people to this community let alone show. I am in a way experimenting. I want to start the show and it see if it has the same effect on me. One of my main questions is might there an effect on how long you've watched the show ( since childhood or later ) ? I am coming into this "experiment" with full positivity and respect for all members and I will state this now I have no idea what to expect so please comment your opinions, perspectives, or if anyone would like to give me a little more insight.

A little about myself:

Im a guy

I'm 17

I've never watched a single episode of MLP in my life aside from quick glances when it was on in my house while my sister was watching it (we never had a great relationship when I was young but it's better now she, around 15 grew out of MLP she's 20 now)

My favorite cartoon growing up was SpongeBob and my mom hated that I watched it because she said it supported violence

Most of the bronies didn't watch in their childhood, but in their adulthood instead, so I don't think so, despite having a lot of young adults nowadays that had experimented the show as a kid! The thing is, it's not nostalgia, it's just the show is so interesting with a good lore and worldbuilding that got the attention of many people, principally men that enjoys high fantasy. Because most of them watched as a joke thinking about colorful girly horses in tea parties, but got an interesting hero-villain story instead. In my introduction thread I explained how I became fond of the show, even, yes, I experienced as a child but I don't have any memories from the show itself despite the toys I had, so more like I experienced the show only after having more maturity, which I'm glad because it's so good to understand the themes FiM brings that kids usually wouldn't understand easily, and that get me much more deep into its world and characters.
You definitely should give FiM a try, but it's up to you if you're going to like it or not :BrightMacContent:
