I mean they are seen eating chocolate where is poisonous to actual horses so what’s wrong with them saying that they enjoy bacon or sausage?

Short of having an allergy, chocolate is nearly universal enjoyed by people, and therefore relatable to the viewer.

Horses shouldn't consume chocolate, but short of several children mistakenly offering said poison, chances of a serious incident occrluring are slim.

Meat regardless of what kind has its own taboos in various cultures.

This is only amplified by the herbivorous preference of pasture animals, which contributes to a decreased threat association.

So while horses can consume limited amounts and types of meat, there are multiple asterisks attached for why they shouldn't and generally don't.

a lot of animals are opportunistically omnivores, pigs and tortoises are both notoriously omnivores and many people don't even know this to be a fact, but honestly a malnourished mammal can be tricked into eating meat easily and often will itself in desperation.
