She's more of a tree hugger.

A lot of the stuff she does doesn't really scream "hippie" and she seems to at least be engaged in consumerism (notably with clothing and fashion). Off the top of my head she shocked Rarity with her fashion knowledge so I'm basing it on that. Speaking of which, she supports Rarity's business where Rarity has to mass produce clothing a lot of the time.

Edit: I should point out that a tree hugger is basically an environmentalist. and that hippies are against mass-production consumerism last I checked; pretty much handmade stuff or locally sourced if possible amongst other ideologies. I will safely assume that all hippies can be considered environmentalists but not all environmentalists are hippies.

ALSO I just remembered, there were a few times where she was arguing with Applejack and usually it was about animals going after the apples. Of course, AJ is upset about it but Flutters thinks they should be allowed to eat a little bit of it.
