Am I the only one who finds it shocking that one person acts for both Applejack and Rainbow Dash?? Those two probably have the most different voices out of the Mane 6 and I can't comprehend how one person can mimic both of their voices.

Another not as surprising voice actor diversity is Rarity, Princess Luna, and Granny Smith. All three are acted by Tabitha St. Germain. And apparently someone in the 2017 movie named Muffin is also acted by her:

I was a little bit taken aback by it, but I can kind of hear the similarities in Fluttershy and Pinkie Pies voices.

Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie did make some sense to me as well, and if you analyze closely you will hear the way Pinkie Pie is basically loud, hyper Fluttershy and Fluttershy is basically quiet Pinkie Pie.

The actresses are all extremely talented but Ashleigh Ball is the BEST! But Andrea Libman has such good vocal range, when I first watched the show I was shocked learning the two actresses voiced two characters because the performances were so distinct I probably wouldn't have known.

Yes, it definitely is when you learn about this. The talents of the voice actors is one of biggest strengths of FiM.

Yes, Ashleigh ball is very talented it is hard to believe that she voices both. Did you know that she also a singer? She makes some great music with her band.

Andrea Libman has also huge range. Hard to believe she plays both Pinkie and Flutters (and others).  Many people don't know while Andrea Libman gives the speaking voice to both Flutters and Pinkie, she gives the singing voice only to Flutters. The singing voice of Pinkie is from Shannon Chan-Kent.

And Tabitha .. is unbelievable Talent on the show (and I think also on earlier generations?). They gives her voice to so many characters. Muffins is the official name of Derpy . Which was also voiced by Tabitha. No only in the movie but also the show.

I definitely can recommend to follow a little bit the voice actors. They are very open to the fandom and it's always a delight to read from them / watch them.

I got to hear AJ and Dash's VA swap back and forth mid sentence live at BABScon, it is sort of a trip how fluidly she can change.

 

Tabitha St. Germain has done a nice variety of voices in MLP, even in G3 as well. I heard that she didn't try out for Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie in FiM because they were too similar to her G3 voices for Wysteria and Minty respectively.

They all are great voice actors. Ashleigh ball voicing RD and AJ wasn't really a surprise for me, I don't think they sound that different in the first season. Tabitha St. Germain impressed me the most overall, plus some of her bloopers are hilarious.
