The recording device needs to be Stereo Mix, with Windows listening to the microphone, playing it through the speakers. It depends on the operating system on how to do it. On 7 it's a pain, and I forgot how to do it in XP, so sorry I can't be of much help there.

Not to be mean, but I doubt anyone here has gotten the same problem with the same program if it's not on Google. Especially if you haven't provided any information about your past experiences with it. Has it ever worked before? Are you sure you have a working mic? Test your microphone with Audacity or Skype. Is there a support team for the program your using? If so message them asking about it. Additionally, did you pay for the program or is it freeware? If it's freeware, try redownloading it.

If it's properly set to stereo mix, it shouldn't be recording your voice

That's why the microphone needs to be set so it's playing out loud. But if it isn't, stereo mix won't record the microphone. So if it is recording your voice, and you haven't set it up like that, it's not recording from stereo mix.

I am kind of retarded when it comes to audio mixing. So, please explain how.

If you're on 7, you can go into the properties of the microphone and in one of the tabs, there will be a checkbox for "Listen to this Device" or something similar.

Not sure if this is helpful, but you could record them with different software. Windows includes simple recording software for your mic. After you are done with recording, just edit them together. It will make the controlling of the audio alot easier, but bit more slow.

I hope you understood what I ment.
