Why are people so pessimistic about the future of MLP?

With all the money the franchise is raking in, I doubt that they will end it after the third season.

But when they do end it, and start a new gen of ponies. Hasbro will probably be scratching their heads thinking ''Why aren't they watching this new pony show??''

Because it will most likely be the same ''tea parties and dress up'' as G3 was. Unless whoever will be working on the next gen of ponies learns something from G4.

Even if it did end, we'd still have fan videos, animation, and music being created, I'm just upset most of the animations will probably be shipping influenced... That's why I treasure the actual show so much. :(

We will still have those, but it's just not the same as the actual show.

MLP is a good thing, and we don't want a good thing to come to an end. It's natural that we freak out a little.

I think it's paranoia that stems from other good shows being inevitably cancelled and fade as their fandoms eventually disappear into the pages of history.

However, there are several reasons why to think differently in the case of MLP.

1. Hasbro is making a lot money from this show right now, so dropping it anytime soon would be bad for the both of us.

2. Because they are making money, and because the fandom consists of people with money to spend, Hasbro realizes they have a large income potential. Thus they will continue the show, or when the next generation comes, they will try to make it appealing to keep that money train going.

3. The creators of the show are not only aware of us, but near fully included into the fandom. Knowing that their show is so popular, they will continue on for as long as they can produce ideas before passing ownership to another person that they trust.

4. And lastly, the bronies themselves are so dedicated, that the production of art, fanfiction, music, and animations from their ranks shall continue to be made, and the fandom will continue to expand. When the show drops out, we will take up it's place and continue on from there, and last even longer than the Trekkies.

We've gained too much speed and influence for the show (or more specifically, G4) to even consider being ended. Not at least for a few more years. Then when that runs out, either G5 will be good enough to take it's place or we'll continue the legacy.

Either way, I think it's safe to have an optimistic outlook on the future of MLP. This is the most epic fandom in the world and I'm glad to be a part of it.

Stay strong and brony on.
