Ticket to Equestria... [WIP] need ideas.

A fanfic I am working on, Ticket to Equestria is of a 21 year old male Ethan Forest (don't judge me -.- with using ethan...) being last of kin trying to keep his grandfather's will alive to keep the library from being closed down.

 

Out of failure and no other choice left the family lawyer comes to give Ethan a letter written if something goes wrong. It had a gemstone necklace that was told to be given to him if the library couldn't be saved and to find a hidden book in a secret room he wasn't told about.. almost no one knew. placing on the necklace he went into the room.

 

finding a book with a odd glow he told to read the 123 page in the book. Confused, emotional and doubtful he read's the only words on the page, "Equestria Durntoll Equee Dui" which burned the book and sent him into a vortex into a one way transport to Equestria.

 

Awaking, he finds out the necklace can't be removed from his body and it will be a source of importance for him.

 

I already have 4,000 words on the first chapter done . I am thinking of releasing it only on these forums and on deviantart.

 

What I need to know, if any powers I give main character, what should they be?

- Avatar power? able to bend the elements?

- Short term transformation?

- Mechanical genius?

- Able to use magic?

- Nothing to major?

 

here's a sketch I did to judge the scale of the main character and what he looks like (he has a ponytail... lol) I noticed I draw ponies much better than humans.... Celestia looks amazing in my own opinion.

I think it has some Promise. I think he should be a Mechanical Genius since equestria doesn't seem to have many(Excluding the FlimFlam Brothers)

even when they do have trains and such, which takes enginneering to get to work.. I believe there is many but not shown too much in the show.
