So in some other forums they got this nifty thing called Forum Jump. it's basically a drop/menu/something that allows you to navigate between subforums without opening the front page

Ah, I have seen this before. That would certainly add yet even more convenience to things, for sure. I never use it much myself on other boards though, as I prefer to consistently revisit the main page, as it is the central hub, to see new topics and new posts in all the forums at once.

I've always liked this idea. Sometimes it's a pain having to check out one thread, going back to the front page to see if there's anything similar to it (to merge or whatever), and then navigating through the sub-forums to find the thread. If we had this, it would be very convenient.

It is kind of annoying having to reopen the front page when all you need is the Sugarcube Corner.

It's hard to dig in into the site when you have to reserve a tab just for the front page.

Ahh, I remember coming across this one time now. It is rather hidden and there a good chance to forget about it if you don't use it frequently. Maybe if it was a bit bigger for example for it's length to fit the button it would be more noticeable and people would wonder what it was? I know that this would probably require a new icon though.
