Almost gave it up though, cause IMHO the first 11 or so episodes aren't that good. But then they got amazing. Hi, My name's Nathan. I make films and music. Why do I like MLP? Because of the depth of the characters and their believability, as well as the applicability and philosophical astuteness of the plots. MultipleTentacles 6 August 13, 2012 Author Share August 13, 2012 (edited) The name refers to a) the fact that I have multiple projects (i.e. multiple "tentacles") and also b ) to a part of an original story involving a character "Reptilian Buddha." Reptilian Buddha loses her parents in a terrible space-ship accident, and she's so terribly upset that the only other alien creature that can calm her is a tentacle being, because all the other aliens in the universe have only four limbs, and a four-limbed hug won't give enough comfort.
