DiscordianBeats 28 September 11, 2012 Share September 11, 2012 (edited) Ok, so let me start of by saying, over the course of being a brony, I've gone through times where I feel like I don't like ponies anymore, only to find out that I do, and was just not in the mood for them at that particular time, so I never got too stressed out when I felt less enthusiastic about them, because I knew I still loved them, I just needed a break every once in awhile. But now it seems, since Bronies became a bit more mainstream, I feel differently about the fandom. I hate to be that guy who always goes, "Oh It was cool before it got all mainstream" because that just sounds so closed minded, and stupid, but for some odd reason I feel like the fandom has changed a lot, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but something I loved about it is missing, and I don't know what, perhaps it was the notion that watching the show was something that was still not as accepted as it is now (which it pretty much became uncommon to not watch it when I first started), or that when I first started it was the first time I really belonged to some sort of social status, internet or otherwise.... I hate sounding like such an idiot, but I can't help but notice how just, not all into it I am now. I am sure something will re-spark my brony flames, but for now I can't seem to get back the feeling I had when I first started watching, which I should honestly not be whining about, but just thought I'd ask what you all thought! I first started watching ponies about a year ago. September 14th to be exact...yes I remember the exact day...it's sad I still get excited about pony merchandise and such, like my belt, hoodie, and sunglasses, but I feel no urge to watch an episode, or look at art. I don't even feel like making pony parodies like I used to, I was on EQD a total of 5 times, and was hoping to get so many more, but now it seems they are more strict about what they put up, and to be honest, my audio mastering could use work, and my singing. Crutch 898 September 11, 2012 Share September 11, 2012 (edited) I go through the same thing as well, but I pretty much do the same with all of my interests. I really think it comes down to what mood I'm in. I mean come on, we can't think about a certian interest ALL of the time no matter how much someone obsesses over it. Honestly, one of the reasons I like being a brony is that it is frowned upon by some people (aka haters). While I'm not trying to be rebellious or anything, it just that it seems like part of the fun of being a brony (for me anyway). I'm always happy for people who become bronies, but I wouldnt really like it if everyone was one. It just seems it would take the fun out it. Those are just some of my opinions and thoughts... This is how I was when I first started, but now it seems more socially acceptable to be a brony, rather than not, especially since bronies are all over the internet now. When I was first starting I was transitioning from being an extreme anti-brony, to a seriously obsessed brony. I watched the entire first season in a day and a half, and then the second season came out with Episode 3 after that. Idk, maybe it's just that I have seen the other episodes too many times...I'll find out when Season 3 starts.
