FLARE 952 January 6, 2012 Share January 6, 2012 I'm not sure if this is a bug or not... When ever I try uploading something to the gallery, I get an error stating that I have ran out of space for uploads, when the file I am trying to upload is less than 2 MB and if I look bellow it says I have used ~9MB out of unlimited, so the bug is either it says unlimited uploads when its not meant to OR its just somehow screwing up for me. when I use the basic uploader, it uploads the file, and has rainbow dash trotting, for a long time, like a VERY long time and does nothing at all. this error only occurs in firefox, in chrome, what happens is it just uploads, and then it hangs there with rainbow dash trotting forever, so I still can't upload in both browsers, just firefox is nice enough to give me an error. Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,527 January 7, 2012 Founder Share January 7, 2012 Does this only happen with GIF's? Try uploading some PNG files (both small and huge). Knowing how large your GIF's tend to be, it's possible that the server gives up on trying to resize it, as that's an extremely CPU-intensive process. FLARE 952 January 7, 2012 Author Share January 7, 2012 Well, I just tried with three PNG files, one being small and one large(in pixels, not size) and one large in pixels are 1.7MB they all ended up working, so it must be the fact that my gif files are massive, but it did work a while back flawlessly, I don't have the exact date though, maybe my gif are just getting bigger, I will try with a small gif file next. Have you tried that yet? I'm almost sure this is the issue. Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi
FLARE 952 January 8, 2012 Author Share January 8, 2012 Oh..yes I forgot, hmmm they all seem to work, except for the animated gif(my signature), but the real thing that puzzles me is that my other gifs I uploaded like a month or a while ago, they seemed to work fine when uploading. FLARE 952 January 8, 2012 Author Share January 8, 2012 Try uploading those again. I just tried, using the same gif files as before, it took a long time to upload, then people in skype said that the website was loading slowly, and I can't help but feel that it was somewhat my fault, so after 3 minutes I stopped uploading. Your GIF's put quite a huge load on my server when it tries to resize them, that's why. But I bet they would've finished processing if you left them long enough - the new one you were trying to upload was probably larger than them.
