Help drawing eyes on ponies

Hey MLP forums, I need help drawing good eyes on ponies. It seems whenever I try to draw eyes, they come out all weird looking, like their eye is hurt or something. How can I draw better eyes?

eyes are universal.

 

look up a tutorial on drawing anime eyes to start with. But it's relatively simple to draw an eye, the hard part is keeping the two eyes exactly identical.

This is how I draw pony eyes myself (the example is kind of sloppy, but meh).

 

 

 

I personally think anime eyes look a bit too detailed for ponies, but it all depends on how you draw them, of course. Try to make them nice and round, no sharp edges to the eyes.

When I draw eyes, I just make a decent oval the looks like an eye, and copy-paste it before mirroring and tweaking it a bit... Though this will only work for digital stuff!
