A couple weeks ago, the guys at "Pure Pwnage" - the web and television series - posted this youtube video

after a 3 long years of hiatus. Such a teaser had us long-time fans wetting our pants in anticipation.

 

If you don't know what "Pure Pwnage" is, just know that you owe everything to this show as a gamer. It essentially defined PC gaming culture through 2004 - 2009.

 

Starting out back in 2004, Pure Pwnage was created by two guys who borrowed a cheap camera and filmed in their own neighborhood. It featured the fictional life of Pro-Gamer "Jeremy" (played by Jarett Cale) and his brother "Kyle" (Geoff Lapaire). As the years passed, the cast of characters grew, and the story line became more interesting and complex. We met Dave, Doug, Anastasia, Teh_Masterer, and more friends. Then, in 2009, Showcase picked up the series to Re-boot as a TV show, based on the same characters, but in a different universe. The TV show did well, but wasn't given a second season.

 

Then... Pure Pwnage... just... died. It fell off the face of the earth. Jarett and Geoff started families and communication between them and the fans started to disappear. By the way, the second season of the web-series was left in the middle of a HUGE cliffhanger, and has been sitting there for almost 5 years. It started to sound like Jeremy's big adventures were over...

 

But sure enough, out of nowhere, Jarett Cale's twitter feed lit up suddenly when he posted this link to a funding campaign... for a Pure Pwnage MOVIE!

It was the biggest single event in a long time to happen in my life, and apparently for lots of other people, too - it matched its $75,000 goal in just ONE DAY.

 

It's a great show, and is backed by a HUGE community that shaped the direction of gaming culture forever. If you want to see what it's all about, here's where you get started:
