JeanHover 326 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 (edited) Alright, apparently this is not life advice. I need to read up on this stuff... This started recently. When I am listening to music and the song hits a part that is kind of quiet, instead of the music, I hear near-silent, muffled apparition of the music. I checked and this is not a problem with my headphones. Did I use "apparition" right in that context? Anyway, any advice on how to fix this? It's getting very annoying. The first step to fixing the issue is tracking it down and isolating it, hopefully in a reproducible state. Answering these questions would be useful: Does the issue occur when using a different set of speakers or headphones than the ones you experience this with? Which program(s) do you use to play music when this issue occurs? Is the issue limited to a single program, multiple programs, or is it system-wide? Have you recently added, modified, or removed any hardware to, in, and/or from your computer, respectively? Have you recently installed and/or updated any drivers on your computer? Have you recently installed and/or updated any software on your computer (other than drivers)? The answers to those questions will shed some light on where exactly the problem lies. 5 Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi
Lifehax 81 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 Most definitely a problem with your headphones. Try plugging in a different audio thingy such as headphones (Preferably a new one) and see if it still happens. If it doe snot persist, It was your headphones. If it does persist, you're device is screwed up.
Cherry Blossom 864 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 Have you tried checking if you've accidentally put it on mute? If that doesn't work then I guess you'll have to go with the plan that is above this post. If that doesn't work then I guess you'll have to go with the plan that is above this post. The problem isn't about not hearing the music. Most of the time the music sounds fine, but at certain parts at random times the music becomes strangely muffled and quiet. Most definitely a problem with your headphones. Try plugging in a different audio thingy such as headphones (Preferably a new one) and see if it still happens. If it doe snot persist, It was your headphones. If it does persist, you're device is screwed up. I also mentioned in post that it is in fact not my headphones. I tried it with my computer speakers and the same thing happens. Please read the post a bit more thoroughly before you reply. Moved this over to General Discussion - Life Advice is intended for deeply personal issues, and a computer niggle is hardly such.
