Balloon Party, but for new artists

I've been swirling an idea around my head for a while now. The idea is for an album or label, much like Balloon Party, specifically geared towards putting the best music from new/unknown musicians out there in the public eye. The idea is for an album of these artists' music to be made available under a "choose-your-price" system, and any money made off of it would go to some charity.

 

So I was wondering a few things: Would you guys be interested at all in helping organize this or in contributing? What might it be called? What charity would we donate to?

Actually, the guys over at MyLittleRemix have been doing a project just like this entitled The Lesser Knowns. So far, they've released two albums.

Oh... I did not know that... I'd still like to try this or something like this, as it seems like it would be a fun project...

Maybe it could be aimed more at fringe artists? Or at communities other than (but not excluding, obviously) MLR? Maybe even something like TMBG's old Hello CD of the Month Club, where an album or EP is released through this from new artists to help promote them?

I really want to make this happen in some form or another...
