Warmobolt 1 October 6, 2012 Share October 6, 2012 Right then, after a few weeks of thought, I've decided to make a OC of myself, although because I have never done it before, i'm gonna do a friend first XD I have good experience with vectoring and I just needed a push in the right direction My plan was to create on with the Pony Creator on Deviantart and trace it to make the final picture which I can fine tune and complete But, is there any guides out there that will help with this? I was also planning to edit my existing vectors I have done and replace the Pony's with my OC's What do you guys think???
Bohiro 15 October 6, 2012 Share October 6, 2012 Honestly, I advise using the pony creator on Facebook. When I was trying to make my OC with the one on DeviantArt, I found it just didn't have that as many options as the one on Facebook did.
DeiStar 248 October 6, 2012 Share October 6, 2012 I'd recommend using the pony creator. If you want some tips for cool OCs, make your OC a black and red alicorn. Totally radical! Not only that, but give him some dragon/bat wings/eyes. They'll look sweet! You can give him some fiery mane and tail, and maybe some accesories to make it look better! But that's just me giving you awesome ideas. You can make your OC however you like!

Yeah, the accessories do look really cool, I still have no idea what I can make it like but I would like it look close to the show as possible Right then, time to get to work! Silverwisp the Bard 2,353 October 8, 2012 Share October 8, 2012 Prepare for Silverwisps Guidelines for good OCs® Your OC : -should be able to fit in with the current setting without changing it (a friend of Pinkie Pie?, sure. Dating Fluttershy? Don't think so) -should not be coloured black or other extremely dark colour, it clashes with the aesthetic of the show. Also make sure, the colours you use go well together. -should not be an alicorn (there are currently only two, both of which posess nearly godlike power and status, Cadence does not count, since she was meant to be a unicorn) -should have a talent/cutiemark, that you could expect to see in the actual show (so no gamepads, tvs, computers ect.) Also, before you decide on your OCs background, please consider: Does the fandom really need another paper-thin Vinyl Scratch clone or another brooding stallion of darkness? Make it unique to you: I'm pretty sure there's more to you than "I like music" or "I'm not that sociable". For extra points, give your character's exterior something unique (read: add something not available in the creator), some interests outside his/her special talent or maybe a bad habit he/she is trying to kick. My Art Thread, updated (almost) daily Tomorrow will take us away, far from home No one will ever know our names But the bard songs will remain.
