Before the sudden arrival of Funko's MLP line, the 2011 Mcdonald's line was the closest to show accurate toys we had. After buying Derpy and Rainbow Dash, I am impressed. Sure, Rainbow Dash' mane has unnecessary blue in the front, however this line has a lot of potential.

 

By the way, there are two distinct versions of Derpy currently. The first run she was printed with a 5 bubble cutie mark, and the recent/all consecutive runs have the correct 7 bubbles. I have both, and each has their pros and cons. First of all, both are not exactly 'Hasbro quality' in the sense that the pony you buy will have different QC issues than the other brony. Excess glues, black specs stuck in the hardening vinyl, etc. However some seem to be a little more without issue than others. The 5 bubble Derpy is incorrect, however I noticed the QC is better than the new corrected 7. My recommendation is to get both if you can, perhaps display the 7 and store the 5, as it will be something cool to have and perhaps rise in value. (An interesting note is that both variants have different code numbers on the bottom of the box)

 

Fluttershy and Dr.Hooves are confirmed next, with Funko stating that they are due in a few months, perhaps February. It is subject to change though.

Glad to see they fixed the bubble count. I was going to get the Dashie one but the screwed up mane really bugs me, maybe if they fix that then I will. Good start to their line overall though, and hopefully it will push Hasbro to realize we want molded manes even more. I'll probably end up buying a custom mane kit though for a brushable Dashie and calling it good until Hasbro makes some, or Funko's Rarity/Applejack is too awesome to pass up.

Yeah Hasbro needs to give us some molded manes bigger than their blind bag/collector line. I agree with you especially on Applejack. I don't care who makes it, Applejack with her brown hat would be a highly celebrated item!

I've got the 5 bubble Derpy, and Rainbow Dash. I'm going to get the corrected Derpy, too. The five bubble thing really bothered me before, and I'm glad they fixed it. I hope they fix Rainbow Dash's mane next.

Agree entirely. I am surprised they didn't fix Rainbow Dash in the second run as well. It's kind of lame how they somewhat faked us out by saying Fluttershy and Dr. Hooves are coming out "soon" when really it will be a few months. I hope them do them right the first time. Haha.
