Mane 6 chemistry sans Twilight

To begin this topic, I want to get something out of the way. This is not, and I repeat NOT, about or has anything to do with shipping. So yeah, understand that first.

 

After watching (and re-watching) the two-part intro of S3, I began thinking about how the mane 6 interact with one another. Mostly, I began thinking this at AJ's awesome "Good things are better when they're a Rarity" line. It was nice to see them talk to, and interact with, one another of their own accord, as in, not needing Twilight to bring them together like she did in Look Before You Sleep. Yes, yes, I know that was back in S1 when it was Twilight-town, but you get what I mean, I hope.

 

S2 took a step in the right direction with allowing each of the mane 6 to have their own lives and not needing Twilight involved somehow. Hurricane Fluttershy and Sisterhooves Social are prime examples of what I'm referring to. Two characters of the mane 6 having good, solid character interaction and not needing Twilight at all because we got plenty of her in S1.

 

So we've already had some decent AJ/Rarity & RD/Fluttershy interaction. My question to you fine ponyfolk is what combos of the mane 6 would you like to see develop more in S3. Rarity/RD? Pinkie/Fluttershy? Also, you could tell me about the combos we've already seen, such as AJ/Rarity, and how you liked/didn't like them.

 

To get something straight, it's not that I don't like Twilight. She's just already had plenty of interaction with each of the others that we're already certain how she interacts with them and there's not many more mysteries to uncover that can be solves via simple character exchanges... did that make sense?

 

Edit: I included Fall Weather Friends in the third paragraph. That wasn't S2. It was in S1. Sheesh

At least it did showcase good character interaction that didn't involve Twilight, even if RD was totally the one at fault

i would like to see some rairity and rainbow dash as i dont think they have really had much of conversation ever other then the whole 20% cooler thing.

Twilight is the catalyst that keeps the Mane 6 together and makes all of their experiences much more enjoyable, to put it simply. It was already implied that not one of them really interacted with one another prior to Twilight's descent to Ponyville, but what they had was potential in being great friends, which, in technical terms, was utilized by the Element of Magic (the tiara) pretty well. They'd all be devastated if Twilight were to suddenly pack her bags and leave because of it.

 

What Twilight brings to the proverbial table is limitless happiness. The Mane 6's bond with each other is so strong, they can overcome Equestria's greatest foes easily. Her intelligence, insight, and innate talent for learning is just part of the equation in her quest to spread harmony all across Celestia's humble land.

I would defiantly like to see more "independent" (well, not being dependent of Twilight) interactions between some characters. I would be very interested in knowing what went on before Twilight became a part of Ponyville. Were the Mane Six... well Mane Five... a group a friends that adopted Twilight into their group for some reason? Or did they just happen to join up after Twilight came around? During the flashback episode (where the CMC's were trying to find RD to figure out how to get their cutie marks) it was apparent that they were all "meant" to be friends, drawn together by RD's sonic rainboom.

 

Anyway, I'd like to see some small interactions between:

Pinkie Pie and Rarity

Apple Jack and Pinkie

Rarity and Rainbow Dash

Fluttershy and Apple Jack (That's a big one)

And

Rarity and Fluttershy

 

Basically, every combonation that doesn't involve Twilight (don't get me wrong, I still love Twilight xD)

I would like to see more Pinkie Pie/Fluttershy bonding. The reason for this is because; well, they are so parallel! Plus that they haven't shared much screen time.

 

 

COME ON GUYS! Who can't get enough of this duo? < FlutterRAGE demands MOAR!

Pinkie doesn't really interest me when she's being silly. Perhaps stick her with Rarity for a bit more so she can be snapped at and hopefully settle down a bit.

 

AJ + Fluttershy might need more time together but not sure how entertaining the two would be together. Both rather relaxed mentally but physically AJ and FS are so different they wouldn't do much with just the two of them.

 

Rarity and Rainbow could be good, either trying to get Rainbow to be a bit less of a hot headed tom boy or her trying to get Rarity to liven up a bit. Perhaps a nice middle ground as they both seem to like attention.

 

I'd actually be happy with them expanding on previously shown relationships though.

Rarity does seem to be taking a shine to AJ, seen throughout the series from the end of the sleepover, to her cleaning the filth from Aj in 'it's about time' up to the Crystal Empire.

I also love the RD/Flutter pair, even though there has been a fair bit of this too, I'd still love more.

The two Unicorns too.

 

As stated further up though, an episode going in to how the rest of the Mane 6 met one another would be great.

Well Pinkies pretty much covered with everyone, she seems to get about and interact enough. I would have to say Applejack and Fluttershy would be good to see... actually Applejack and anyone! Definitly more of Applejack and Rarity as they are chalk and cheese.
