~Master~ Button Mash 2,307 December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 I've decided to finally stop putting off doing digital art and just do it already. Last night I downloaded and installed GIMP for Mac, but now I'm on the hunt for a drawing pad that's Mac compatible. So far the Wacom Bamboo looks like the best one. Anypony have any experience with this pad? Or are there any others you'd recommend? Also, GIMP I've heard is a great place to start, but should I eventually move onto another software? If so, what? Also, I have two fanfic ideas that I want to run past you guys. The first is a bit of escapism fantasy in the vein as My Little Dashie and Somewhere Only We Know. It will be about someone who escapes to Equestria in their dreams via lucid dreaming. It would be an anthology of sorts, a collection of all the adventures he has in Equestria over his years of lucid dreaming. Some stories would be funny, some sad, and everything in between. The other is a bit of a "slice of life" one-shot. It would involve a tornado coming from the Everfree Forest (after-all, the weather there changes on it's own), and all the pegasi must band together to destroy it before it destroys Ponyville. It's almost like the reverse of Hurricane Fluttershy. Well...what do you guys think? 2 Follow me on Tumblr! http://stratosthestallion.tumblr.com
RaptorART 258 December 8, 2012 Share December 8, 2012 Hey there, and how goes it!I've been doing art for over 10+ years and I'm here to assist you with some of your ART questions First off, a tablet is a TOOL you don't get instantly better by acquiring one, lol (that would be cool though) I don't have GIMP myself, but i hear its decent I do all my work in Photoshop 7 (its really old) and sometimes I draw on www.Artgrounds.com (its like a huge drawing pad that you can draw with other people at the same time) and the tool set and options are WAY better than your average paintchat thingie As for Tablets I own a Wacom Intous 5 Large (its literally bigger than my laptop) for a starter I would recommend a Wacom Bamboo Tablet, they go for 80$-100$ and are totally worth every penny I got multiple friends that own one, they all love them it is kinda small, but when digital drawing your looking at the screen, so it doesn't matter feel free to aks me anything art-wise check me out on FB or my DA! https://www.facebook.com/RaptorArtStudios?ref=hl http://raptor007.deviantart.com/
