Recommended Posts

Around xmas eve or so our DSL crashed and from then on it'll do this thing where it'll connect for 2 or 5 minutes then it'll drop for like 40 seconds then reconnects..  Does anyone know if Verizon having some sort of black out or something?

Oh no we have Verizon Wireless DSL, you know that black box with the green flashing lights and even the internet light stays on our net will keep dropping. I am from southern MD by the way

You can try unplugging, if you do make sure you leave it unplugged for about 20 seconds though as Verizon modems have a safe guard battery that last about that long if power flickers.

You can also try resetting the router. There should be a little button on the back that you will need a pin to press down and hold. Again Verizon suggests you hold it down for 15 to 20 seconds.

Past that I hate to say it, but you might have to call them.

No I think it is verizon having problems, we did call support and try twitting/facebooking them but they never reponded.  So I am wondering if Verizon is having some black out..

Btw I liked your Derpy review

Thanks. I plan on getting more MLP stuff, and as I do I'll review it. But it's going to be a little bit until I do.

Verizon customer service is severely under staffed and under paid. When I worked there we couldn't do much past what I suggested to ya. Sending a tech, forget about it. Hope things work out for ya.

That's great we need a tech over here, the problem started after a windstorm hit.  If it isn't verizon then I think something got loose

If you also have a landline phone through Verizon as well, and that still works, then it's most likely a problem with your modem or the hub server involved in sending your data. If the phones are also down then it's probably a physical cable that got damaged by the storm.

I can't say for sure, but if the router has all the normal lights on then it's probably best to unplug it for a few seconds to reset it. It's worked for me with other routers (not DSL, I had a lot of problems with DSL and resetting didn't significantly fix any of them).

Hey Verizon did say to change channels.. And they said that the username is admin and they said that the password is the serial #.. Do they mean the serial # of the router?
