Sanic Screwdriver 345 February 1, 2013 Share February 1, 2013 So if you've seen my some of my other posts you should know I'm a "closet brony" who doesn't want to be one. I'm seriously contemplating whether or not I should and if so how. So my current plan is after this summer (when my sister goes to college) tell my mom and brother. I'm going to explain everything about it to my mom but let my brother think whatever. The reason I'm waiting is my sister and I love each other but every now and then she makes fun of me for reading/watching anime so I don't even want to THINK about what she would do if she found out. Also if she found out her boyfriend would mos-likely find out. Thoughts on this and/or any personal stories about things relating to this you'd like to share? Brony on everypony! Swick (ded) 436 February 1, 2013 Share February 1, 2013 Why not tell them now? Even if your sister does tease you, it doesn't matter. So what, you like a show? It's not really a big deal, honestly. Who cares what others think? 2 Hey you! Hey! Do you have Flash? Wanna animate ponies? HERE'S A THING I DID A LONG TIME AGO! Pony Puppets for any version of Flash! Harmonic Revelations 8,835 February 1, 2013 Share February 1, 2013 Alright, so you get behind her and I push. Wrong plan? Okay then. Just be completely natural about it, if you want you don't have to tell them at all unless they ask.
Yellow Diamond 7,574 February 1, 2013 Share February 1, 2013 This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner. This is an automatically generated message, by the way. Domine, tu omnia nosti, tu scis quia amo te. Phoenix237 353 February 1, 2013 Share February 1, 2013 Well whatever works for you If You want to wait for your sister to leave then okay Now one tip I should mention is don't make a big deal about it. If you use a phrase like "can we talk" or "I need to tell you something" then they are going to think that something is wrong, even though that may not be the case. Just try to be casual about it. What I did when I told my sibilings was I ask them I they know what a brony is (by the way I always ask them random questions, one reason this worked). After I explained what the fandom was I told them I was a part of it. Things worked out pretty well, mainly because of the explanation, and life moved on, except for me having to keep it a secret. Now whatever it is you think will work, I suggest you stick to it. It's going to be your plan and that's why it will make you feel comfortable. Sanic Screwdriver 345 February 5, 2013 Author Share February 5, 2013 Why not tell them now? Even if your sister does tease you, it doesn't matter. So what, you like a show? It's not really a big deal, honestly. Who cares what others think? First I just wanted to say thanks for not putting that in a mean way (people have before) and there is a reason. I'm not all gung-ho to tel my family "Hey everybody! I watch My Little Pony!" My Little Pony is a little girls show family show intended for little girls. I'm not usually sensitive about stuff and think "Let people think what they would like of me" (however I do tone my weirdness down a bit in front of people so I don't become an outcast.) However for some reason I feel like it would really upset me for some reason if someone harrassed me for it Oh gosh. I was listening to proud to be a brony and the music started playing out of the speakers and I had a mini-heart attack! I dont think anyone heard though. Gone for good 1,593 February 5, 2013 Share February 5, 2013 lol if your sister's going to college she's going to be exposed to at least one brony. There will be nerds, weeaboos, furries, gamers, and the newly added bronies at any college. Granted depending on the place you might have to look around for them, but yeah lol I wouldn't even tell them, to be honest. IF they see you watching it just be all like "yeah I'm watching this." Just editing my signature to say that my behavior on here was cringe. I don't regret the friends i made but man i was cringe here
