Blue Lightning 275 February 15, 2013 Share February 15, 2013 About a week ago, I came down with something viral because I was taking antibiotics because a week BEFORE THAT, I went to the doctors for having hearing troubles and they told me I had an ear infection. Nevertheless, my hearing came back, I'm doing things like usual, but I'm not quite sure whether or not I am still sick. This is because I feel really hot and I'm still having a little trouble breathing The reason I mention this in the first place is because I've been trying to have a "get together" with my band mates and today was supposed to be the day that we did that. Coincidentally one of them came down with something as well. I will love and tolerate just about anything. But being sick I DO NOT!!! Scritches 92 February 15, 2013 Share February 15, 2013 (edited) Before I post anything: I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, ALWAYS DEFER TO PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE OVER ANYTHING I SAY OR ADVISENow to the matter at handThis really hinges on a couple of things:1.) How high is your fever?(if it's over 103 go to a doctor immediately)2.) How long have you had this fever? If you've had it anymore than a day or two you should get it checked out. This is because I feel really hot and I'm still having a little trouble breathing Last time I checked, ear infections tend not to cause breathing problem. And this has been going on a week now? Are you still taking those medications your doctor gave you for your ear infection? If so there is the POSSIBILITY that it might be the medications. Talk with your doctor about this and see what he thinks. The reason I mention this in the first place is because I've been trying to have a "get together" with my band mates and today was supposed to be the day that we did that. Coincidentally one of them came down with something as well. It's always ill advised to be around other people when there is the possibility of you spreading the disease. Spending time with friends is an important thing but doing your part in keeping them(and yourself) healthy is more important. As for whether or not you are still sick, it really seems to me like you still are.In conclusion you should:1.) Go talk to your doctor about your continued symptoms2.) Arrange with your bandmates to have your jam session another time3.) Get well soon! HeartOfSilver 41 February 16, 2013 Share February 16, 2013 I just got over some weird bug a few days ago and I had similar symptoms as you. But what did help me was getting plenty of rest, taking my temperature often and drinking lots of fluids. I can't stress the fluids enough. And word of advice: try and switch up what you drink. When I get sick, I drink water, OJ and Gatorade. I alternate it with each time I drink and it does wonders for me. But also, follow what Leatherneck wrote. He covered the bases very well. Get well soon!
