    Christmas isn't overhyped, it is however completely over-marketed. It has gone from being a deeply sentimental/spiritual/religious experience into a corporate feeding frenzy mixed with a massive dose of materialism.

    There's no mention of them in any canonical source, however according to the Journal Of the Two Sisters both Celestia and Luna were raised by "the alicorns". The implications are that there was an entire group(if not entire race) of them over a thousand years ago. What happened to them, and more specifically to Celestia and Luna's parents, is anyone's guess at this point.

    Wrong, they were all familiar with at least 5 of the founding members of Equestria according to "The Journal of the Two Sisters" by Amy Keating Rogers. So they took the throne no more than a few years after the founding of Equestria. In the "The Journal Of The Two Sisters" Luna mentions "The Alicorns" implying that there were others before her and Celestia and that both Luna and her sister were raised by these alicorns. The princess in the love poison story was probably one of these alicorns or a predecessor to them. It was Celestia and Luna, hence why they were the ones who had to defeat him. This is proven by the fact they had their cutie marks and they earned their cutie marks while being on the throne. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Luna rebelled against Celestia before becoming Nightmare Moon, the conflict became so desperate that many of the survivors rallied in Canterlot where Celestia and the defenders staged a desperate last defense against Luna and the Nightmare Forces.(see the Celestia micro-series comic for details)

    Something of note, Luna's betrayal against Celestia happened before she became Nightmare Moon http://i.imgur.com/LkZqttN.jpg If you take a look at the Reflections arc of the comics and 'The Journal Of The Two Sisters' book, you'll discover that both Celestia and Luna were very familiar with Starswirl and regularly spoke with him. He and Celestia were particularly close. Something else you might be able to add is that Starswirl was around somewhere right around Luna's rebellion/Nightmare Moon's banishment as mentioned in the Reflections arc. Celestia meets alternate Luna Luna mentions context for when that took place

    The Emporer's New Groove which I watched with my sister. I actually got curious about due to all of the various episode analyzers referencing it a a good example of a redemption story.

    Perhaps you've forgotten that many of the spiders who live in your house are there because of the other pests that are present there. Any of them would be lucky to catch a fly in their webs as it makes a good meal for them.

    Many people I know will freak out or sieze up at the sight of them, however I see them for the benefit they bring. So no I don't hate or fear spiders. That being said, I don't like them crawling on me without me knowing at least what species they are. If I feel them and I can't see them, they're dead.

    I don't think he was ever trying to say that there was any influence on FiM, simply that there are alot of paralells. There's no need to try and drag down what he has to say.

    I was thinking you might call her Frazzle Grump, due to her hair, apparent personality, and cutie mark. There are other possibilties though, I'll try to think of a few and let you know when I come up with them. Best of luck with developing your OC.

    Unicorn pony...without even a second's hesitation. And since I have to put in at least 100 characters I'll explain why. I would like to be able to cast magic but not just any kind of magic, I would focus my efforts into learning combat-centric magic. Fireballs...oh I don't need anymore characters? POST!

    If you had asked me just last week, I'd have said yes I'm pretty happy. However...I got fired from my job on monday so there isn't much happiness going around. Glad to hear that you are full of joy though OP, I hope you find something that allows you to continue in it and spread it to others.

    G1 = Generation 1 of My Little Pony which includes the two original My Little Pony specials and the My Little Pony and Friends show. It gets passed around quite a bit so now you know it for future reference.

    I'm not sure if this was intentional or not but I can see what I believe are design elements from G1 mixed in there, and normally that kind of thing would irk me. However you managed to pull it off in such a way that makes it work, congrats!

    Well considering that the game hasn't even been realeased in Japan yet, I'm sure that he'll get the call eventually and who knows maybe they'll get the guy who voiced snake in Metal Gear Philanthropy( http://www.mgs-philanthropy.net/ ) if they don't get Hayter.

    Why not one for both? This would be interesting. I hope that we at least get some kind of info regarding the presence(or lack thereof) of her parents. So long as they actually play off of his redeemed status without having him just hang out with the ponies that would be fine. It needs to be something epic and grand in scale where his magic would come in handy. She already came back in the season 3 finale and had a number of cameos. This includes several where in she is looking straight at the "camera".
