Commander_PonyShep 349 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 For me, it's help her subjects achieve their respective hopes and dreams. Most especially Rarity and Rainbow Dash, since the former wants to move her shop to Canterlot, and the latter wants to become a Wonderbolt captain. Though, it's likely that Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Applejack lack aspirations of their own, compared to Twilight, Rarity, and Rainbow; rather, they'll just stay in Ponyville with their own, original lives. Part of the beauty of becoming a leader is using it to benefit your own followers, namely by empowering them and sharing power. It's important to monitor that power, both in yourself as well as your followers, sure. However, when you give your followers power, they can work with greater efficiency, and even come up with decisions you might not have thought of yourself. Likewise with Princess Twilight. Even with wings and a growth-spurt, it's obvious that she still has a long way to go before matching her magic with Celestia's, and that she's not going to be immortal after all. For her to succeed, she would have to empower her subjects and accept their decisions, the same way she did with her friends. Otherwise, if she hogs all the power for herself and doesn't share it with her subjects, she might end up as a tyrant, like Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis, King Sombra, and Trixie before her. I know because I once took up Interpersonal Communications class, and learned that power can be shared with followers. I also read a couple of Internet articles on leaders empowering their followers, rather than dominating them, like this article, for example: http://blogs.hbr.org/goldsmith/2010/04/empowering_your_employees_to_e.html
King 5,625 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Personally I think she will more likely serve as royal court magic pony.. (not sure if its wizard or anything like that) Since she kinda created a new type of magic, and the fact that Celestia is still in power... But for now I think she will remain in Ponyville studying Goddamn right, you should be scared of me Twitter
Betez 1,734 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 I think Applejack, Fluttershy, and Pinkie have all found their place in Ponyville, and are happy with it. I don't know if Rainbow still wants to be on the Wonderbolts or not, after what happened at the Academy. And I don't know if Rarity will ever actually move to Canterlot. Twilight, I think may just work alongside Celestia and Luna, and maybe rule Ponyville, but it's too early to tell. Commander_PonyShep 349 March 23, 2013 Author Share March 23, 2013 (edited) I think Applejack, Fluttershy, and Pinkie have all found their place in Ponyville, and are happy with it. Originally, the writers just had Rainbow Dash leave the Wonderbolt Academy altogether, but changed the ending by having her graduate from the Academy, after teaching Spitfire about the importance of doing the job safely and properly. That means canonically, Rainbow is technically already a Wonderbolt, perhaps even captain of her own team, albeit one different from Spitfire's. As for Rarity, she already became popular in Canterlot ever since Sweet and Elite, even when her friends embarrassed her in front of Fancy Pants, despite him being okay with it and everything. That means her own likelihood of moving to Canterlot had dramatically increased, especially since Twilight became a princess, thus proving to Rarity that she can succeed with her own aspirations like Twilight. After all, if Twilight is going to become greater than what she used to be, she might as well bring Rainbow Dash and Rarity with her. Plus, even with the "two of each species" symmetry dead, there is still not only the "three of each terrain" symmetry in the Mane Six (Rainbow, Twilight, and Fluttershy for the fliers, and Rarity, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie for the non-fliers), but also the symmetry of "three traditionalists" (Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack) and "three reformists" (Twilight, Rainbow, and Rarity). In other words, three ponies are happy with their own lives, including Fluttershy, Pinkie, and Applejack, and three have aspirations of becoming something greater, including Twilight, Rainbow, and Rarity.
