Adente 1,000 April 19, 2013 Share April 19, 2013 Hey guys, so I want to hear your opinions on the 'gentlemanly' sport, golf. Why, you may ask? So I was talking to my dad the other day, and he mentioned I should learn to play golf. Why? Because golf is invaluable in the business/cooperate world, which I hope to have a career in. Now, I'm big on playing sports, but contact sports like soccer or football are more my forté, not sports like golf! I can't see the value in the sport, but maybe that's just my uncouth mind being shortsighted. Are there real values in the business world to being able to play a decent game of golf? There are tons of business men in companies who go on trips and just play golf. But really, you should just play the "sport" because you want to, not because you feel like you have to know it. Thunderchild 875 April 7, 2015 Share April 7, 2015 It's a point of contact with people with whom you may not have a point of contact otherwise. I've spoken with many people who play just for that reason-a lot of business gets done on the golf course, and a lot of opportunities present themselves. Learn the game. It sucks, but it's worth it.
