ASocialyAwkwardPony 299 April 29, 2013 Share April 29, 2013 This is probably requested many times already so sorry about that, but I think having more cool stuff on our artist profiles would have been fun. Including but not limited to things like: -Favorite genres -Favorite bands/inspirations -Instrument skills -Extended bio -Gear and instrument info (like guitar and synth types, software used, etc.) Perhaps adding it in it's own tab like with "All Content" and "Favorites" so you won't clutter the main artist page with it.
Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,529 April 29, 2013 Founder Share April 29, 2013 It seems to me there is a potentially unlimited number of things one may want to put into their profile page. Is there a realistic need to split all of those into separate fields, or could they all be covered by a single "extended bio" one? I just don't want to get into a situation where there are a million different fields one can fill out for their profile, leaving them overwhelmed and even confused. On the other hand, people often don't know what to put into a "bio" field, so having a few specific fields there can serve as a great way to suggest info to share. The new tabbed profiles are pretty sweet, and some kind of "extended info" page that's really crafted more by the artist rather than the software would be a great idea for a new tab. 1 Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi

Yeah having a simple extended info page could work pretty well too

Yeah, simply by providing an extended bio with the input field suggesting "put in your favorite genres, instruments, and/or software used!" and so on should cover most, if not all, of these suggestions. The only thing that could be made more explicit and separate from the extended bio would be links to youtube, soundcloud and other media websites. I wonder if these should be implemented - of if them being available could actually hurt pony.fm. I'm leaning towards them being added in, but would like to hear your thoughts.
