My first pony art (Update: second, third, fourth...)

Actually, my first art of any kind, really. I frequently had to refer to the screenshots I had taken from the show to get the dimensions and poses right. :/ Gotta start somewhere. Also, that background looks absolutely horrendous don't you think? I might redo it later.

 

What do you think? EDIT: I should mention that this is a rough draft. If you zoom in enough on it you can tell it's rough around the edges.

It actually looks pretty darn awesome, like directly from the show to be honest.

I really liek the expression on Dashies face, and the whole position as well.

The background isn´t horrendous, it is just a bit plain, but it fits in well, for this is cloudsdale (?), and yea, sky ._.

Never mention that :´c. It´s a secret, shhhh. I´m going to hell if people start doing this xD.

My second pony drawing. Does this style appeal to anyone? And gah, I couldn't get her tail to look right. I guess I'll get better eventually. EDIT: It looks too grainy unless you click to enlarge it... but then it's too big. Gah. Deviantart version looks better.

That texture really is the icing on the cake.  I actually really like the texture you've applied, mixed in with the non-smooth lines of twilights body.  I'm not a visual artist, so I can't think of the proper words, but I can definitely appreciate this!

Ugh. I drew an OC today, but I don't know what to do with him. He's kinda "me" in pony form, but I chose pink because there's not enough pink stallions in the world.

 

The cutie mark is a quill which could mean drawing or writing, because I'm doing both right now. Also, he lacks a nose. Anyways, blah. Here.

Pretty cool man, if this is the first art you've done then you definitely have a load of potential, I'll be interested in seeing what you come up with later.

 

The background, meh. I can see room for improvement, but the background can be one of the most important things in an art piece which is why some people tend to draw the pony first *then* dedicate full resources to the background.

I tried another new style... wait for it... black outlines! I was inspired to draw this when I rewatched Magical Mystery Cure for the umpteenth time. Right at the end of the "I've Got to Find a Way" song, where she looks out the window... I was like, "I HAVE to draw that." I promise my next one will be less depressing. Also, I can't draw a nose to save my life.
