[OC] Dusty Rhodes

This was supposed to be my OC as of last week, but I derped and went with Grey Hoof when I made this account  *derp*

 

Anyway, i'm still coming up with a full backstory, so here's what i've got so far:

 

Dusty is a pegasus born somewhere behind a salt bar in Appaloosa. When he was little traveling through the plains, he found an old bandanna stuck to a tumbleweed that had gotten caught on a barbed-wire fence and decided to use it to keep all of the dust that was blowing around out of his face. After a while, he started to like the way the bandana looked on himself and decided to just wear it around all of the time, even long after he couldn't fit it over his head anymore, just in case he needed it again for something.

 

He doesn't have any family (that he knows of), and has very few friends due to his constant traveling and his unfortunate habit of pushing them away when he shouldn't. He would start to push any new friends away when he felt that they might cause him to stay for good, which would always leave him with a feeling of emptiness that would drive him to cut ties and move on to continue his search to fill the void and find peace with himself. 

 

 

Despite the many years that have passed, Dusty continues to travel all over Equestria, looking for the one thing that he has always felt he was missing...

 

 

TL;DR : Hes unhappy and travels a lot.

Ok, so I spent a good 3 or so hours starting at 2 AM re-touching and adding a background to this doodle in an attempt to make it actual art.  I think I did pretty well, but i'de still love some sort of feedback. So pretty much this is the final version of this version of my OC. And maybe at some point i'll finish Dusty's story too!

I think it looks amazing! although I'm confused as to what his cutie mark is (sorry I can't see it very well, it's more of a blob to me if anything) and the background picture- EVEN BETTER But if I could add my personal opinion in here, his backside could be a bit smaller, stallions' aren't all that big, and the tail could be a bit longer but whatever you wanna do if fine by me I hope this helps!

thanks for the feedback!  his cutie mark is a tumbleweed (Russian thistle to be exact), his backside is that size due to me using actual horses as a source for his shape and proportions, and personally I like shorter tails. anyway, I'll start on another edit if  this image with your suggestions and see how it turns out.

 

there, I re did his curie mark, gave him tail extensions, and put him on a diet. I'm actually pretty ok about the changes, and i'll try to remember them in the next version of him.

it looks perfect!  I'm glad you thought about my perspective He looks absolutely amazing, and I can see the cutie mark much clearer now thank you! and for future references, try using Big Macintosh as a template hope it helps!
