I'm a pegasister from the land down under (Australia) and I didn't get into the show until the first season was well and truly aired (in the states, at least). I resisted it thinking a kid's show couldn't be that good and that all these people we're making too much fuss over it. ...But then I relented and watched an episode and well, I'm sure you all know the rest.
