Chevette 1,052 July 1, 2013 Share July 1, 2013 A quick drawing for a buddy. This drawing features his 1999 Chevrolet S10 with the 4.3 Liter Vortec V6 and greatly oversized stock side view mirrors. This buddy happens to be on this here forum by the name of "The Dude" http://mlpforums.com/user/14714-the-dude/ Even though I wanted this drawing to turn out better than it did, I guess it's okay. It really doesn't look as complicated as my usual drawings, but I think half of that is because I was slowly falling asleep while completing it. Here you go folks, a drawing of two things that probably don't exactly mix. And no, they are obviously not racing. If they were, we'd all know the S10 would put Dash in here place. I enjoy myself some Rainbow Dash, but we all know that little pickup would whoop on her. Seriously. 6 Chevette x Chevelle ~ OTP "Happiness is a quarter of a million Chevettes"
Orbital Hooves 4 July 1, 2013 Share July 1, 2013 (edited) Nice drawing, bud! I really liked the idea behind this, and you executed it nicely! I don't know if you guys are into mini trucks or any extreme mods like that, but dang. That truck would look wicked if it was dropped, and we added some air bag suspension, haha. S10's are nice the way they sit stock though. I just have an urge to mod any truck I see. Edited July 1, 2013 by Orbital Hooves

I have seen some trucks that can pull off the lowered suspension, but unfortunately, a lot of the people out there just get any ol' car and drop it to the ground, add huge rims and throw in a loud stereo system and call it "modded". If it's done right, they can look very badass, but it has to be done with some dignity and class. I actually think my buddy wants to go in the opposite direction with his truck and turn it into one of these: I personally have a 1982 Chevrolet Silverado that is restored and done up stock, I wouldn't modify the suspension because it would take away from that "stock" look. But I do have another buddy that has a 1971 Chevrolet Cheyenne that he lowered that looks pretty awesome. Here's a picture: Mine is the truck to the right, my other buddy's truck is the black one to the left. 1 Chevette x Chevelle ~ OTP "Happiness is a quarter of a million Chevettes"
dedacct6 2,591 July 2, 2013 Share July 2, 2013 Very nicely done dude! I love the detail on the truck, and the dynamic shading is fantastic, keep up the good work. What material did you use to do this drawing? it look like graphite...

What material did you use to do this drawing? it look like graphite... Thanks, man! Believe it or not, I just use a standard mechanical pencil on my drawings. It says "Papermate Sharpwriter #2" on the side and it is yellow with them little twisty ends on it to feed more lead to it. Yeah, I don't really know any other way to tell you the truth, just a regular ol' pencil and my finger to smear it a little and she's there. Thanks again for the comment, much obliged. Yeah, I agree. I like it when people lower their trucks, but it has to have that hint of elegance to it. Your friend did a good job on that project. But I also like taking old trucks, and restoring them back to their original glory, and you represent that well! I actually had an old LUV I was going to take on as a project, but I had to sell it because I needed the cash, Anyways; awesome trucks, and awesome art work. I'm happy people on this forum have similar automotive tastes to me as well!
Yamato 1,348 July 3, 2013 Share July 3, 2013 Duuuuuuuuuuuude.... Like, totally radical. man... What we have here is a damn fine piece of artwork. My truck looks great (as always), the pony's awesome (as always), and you did an awesome job on the shading for 4 A.M. And uh... And no, they are obviously not racing. If they were, we'd all know the S10 would put Dash in here place. I enjoy myself some Rainbow Dash, but we all know that little pickup would whoop on her. Seriously. DAMN STRAIGHT! VORTEC POWERRRRRR! Smaller tires, of course, and none of that ram-air hood. And my cousin actually had a '79 LUV. The 4WD one, in black. His... his was a piece of shit. I'm not gonna lie. Not exactly the kind of vehicle you want as a daily driver. He sold it after the rear axle gave out, while the vehicle was stationary in his driveway. 2 This is the greatest OC of all time.
