" I remember feeling the same way when I saw you with that other mare.. " Starshy admitted, thinking back on that time. She had liked Storm a lot. However, considering what happened, her feelings for him had lessened greatly. However, her feelings for Chocolate had still remained. She didn't want to "go after him" as it were too risky. After the trip was over she had gone back to her daily route again. She wasn't sure if he was still with that Pegasus mare and didn't want to bother him. 

 

Once again, she was bought back to the present as Chocolate presented her with a flower. She grabbed with her mouth, and then used her free hoof to place it into her mane by her right ear. " Thank you so much, Chocolate. "

[Chocolate 109]

He gave a small nod when he saw her place the flower in her mane, he was glad she liked it. Looking up at the sky he was reminded of how little time they had to actually sit and talk to get to know each other. It was getting later in the afternoon and he didn't want to keep her much longer if didn't have to. "I should probably be headed back to the farm." He said with a small sigh. "I'd ask you to come back but I think we got the majority of the work done today. I can handle the rest."

 

He also noted what day it was and smiled. "Tomorrow I have the day off. You wouldn't happen to have anything planned would you? Because I would love to do something." He blushed a bit. "Mind if I... walk you home again?"

Starshy smiled back, pleased they had this chance to talk one on one. What a nice change from all the craziness that occurred back at the resort and there was always some pony around. 

 

She glanced up at the setting sun, realizing it was getting later in the day. 

 

" I should probably be headed back to the farm. " Starshy heard Chocolate say, and she suddenly got a little anxious. He couldn't leave just yet! Not after they just confessed to each other. She had to do something before they parted for the night. She prayed that he wouldn't be upset with her for doing this. 

 

She used her magic to gently lower Chocolate's head, and then leaned in over the table claiming his lips. This would be the first kiss she has ever shared with the mighty stallion and it felt pretty good. 

 

Starshy soon let the kiss end, blushing at her boldness. " No, we should definitely see each other tomorrow. " 

[Chocolate 109]

Chocolate was dreading his return back home, he knew his family would be waiting like wolves for his return. Ready to berate and try to sway him to stop associating with his mare interest. He shuddered a bit unintentionally as he prepared to stand and then suddenly he felt a strange sensation run through his senses. He suddenly found his head being lowered, albeit gently towards hers. His eyes widened as he realized he was being enveloped by magic. Was this...?

All of his thoughts were silenced when Starshy's muzzle pressed to his. There at the small cafe the two shared their first kiss, and he soon found himself relaxing, closing his eyes, and slowly but surely moving into the kiss without any influence from her magic. It was a moment that even the nearby patrons couldn't help but smile at. When she broke the kiss, the large stallion seemed a little weak in the knees and fixed his black mane. "..." No other words needed to be said for him to understand the beautiful unicorn mare's feelings. "I look forward to it." He said in response to spending time together tomorrow. 

He walked her to her home and stopped once they were at her doorstep. "I'll see you tomorrow then." He said leaning his head down to nuzzle hers in a rare show of affection. "Take care." He said before turning back to head to the farm. He looked resolute as he heavily trotted home, whatever fear and inhibitions he had before were now gone, and all it took was her kiss. "I will see you again, Starshy. I promise..."

Starshy waved goodbye to Chocolate after he had taken her home. She closed the door and slumped against it, glowing from her first kiss with him. She touched her hoof to her muzzle and then grinned like the giddy mare that she was. There was a small thought in her mind as she sat there that this happiness she was feeling may not last.

 

Chocolate's family wasn't actually, well, friendly. She hadn't come across any of his other folks but if they were anything like his cousin, it made her shudder. It wasn't like she was going to get married to him now - that idea made her blush - she just wanted to be his marefriend. That was all. Apparently too much to ask for, but she didn't want to give up either. They were just starting to become more than friends, sharing their first kiss and all (thanks to her taking that step). 

 

Deciding on to dwell on this anymore, Starshy literally bounced up the stairs to her room, not all too tired to get to bed. She took her time getting herself ready, brushing her teeth and dressing into a simple nightgown. She trotted slowly to her bedroom and got into bed. Her eyelids drifted close and soon was fast asleep.

"I'm well aware of what I have done." Chocolate said as the same larger draft horse from before paced in front of him. The rest of his family members watched as both father and son spoke about what he had done that day. "You brought her here why? You know we are a proud family that has never needed magic or flight to get by, so why disgrace us like this?" the massive stallion asked as he looked Chocolate in the eye. "Because I-" Chocolate paused, was it the best thing to say that he loved her? It was probably the last thing they wanted to here but he remembered the kiss they shared earlier and nodded to himself.

 

"Because I care for her, she is more than just a friend to me. Not only has she helped me around the farm but she is a special somepony to me." He explained. There was a small murmur as the rest of the Chocolate family spoke to each other. "Can't you all just give her a chance? If you all just got to know her then you'd-" Chocolate's voice was soon dwarfed by the much deeper voice of his father. "Enough, there is nothing left to say on this matter. You may be older now Chocolate, but this is still my farm. My farm, my rules. No unicorns or pegasi." He said giving him a glare and leaving Chocolate to his own thoughts.

The large brown stallion awoke the next morning and did his normal morning routine. Today was his day off and he had agreed to spend time with her today. Though his father had jurisdiction of the farm, none of them could tell him what to do once he was off the farm. Placing his large saddle on, Chocolate made way for Starshy's home, hoping to catch her bright and early.

The white mare awoke to the sound of birds chipping in the trees. Starshy yawned a bit, getting herself out of bed. She went about her daily morning routine. As she was brushing her teeth, the toothbrush moving on it's own from her magic, she realized something.

 

She was going to be spending time with Chocolate today and not just on his farm. She smiled to herself, with this realization in mind, and went back to her room.

 

Starshy used her magic to open the doors of her closet and picked out a cute little summer dress to wear. It was a soft butter yellow with daisies. 

 

Once she was all ready, she went downstairs and waited for Chocolate's arrival.

Chocolate stood in front of Starshy's door, occasionally lifting his large hoof to the door before hesitating and letting it rest back on the ground. He had been out there for a good 5 minutes, deliberating whether or not it was too early to knock. If she was asleep then he didn't want to wake her. But he was certain she would be up at the time and raised his hoof once more to finally knock on the door. There he stood and waited, he had couldn't wait to spend the day with her, finally they would be able to really bond and just be around one another. He took a deep breath and waited for her to answer the door.

Starshy's ears perked up at the sound of a knock. She trotted over to the door, opening it with her magic. On the other side was Chocolate, whom she had already guessed.

 

"Good Morning, Chocolate. " She smiled at him, walking out from her house into the bright sunny morning. The door closed behind her.

 

She then stood next to the gentle stallion, lifting her hoof and gently brushing it against his hind leg affectionately. Starshy wasn't afraid to show her affection now, she'd been hesitate before. Things were different now.

"Good morning." He replied softly as he felt her touch his hind leg. He moved a bit closer to her as he turned in place, meeting her face to face, more or less. He had to lean his head down to lightly kiss her cheek. "You look nice this morning." He said admiring her choice of clothing as he stepped back to get a better look at her. "Are you ready?" He asked motioning her to follow with his large hoof. 

 

"I was thinking we could take a walk around town today, or we could do whatever you like. I'm not sure what ponies do to have fun around here."

The kiss on her cheek made her flustered, if she had wings they'd be popping up right about now. She nodded her thanks at his compliment. 

 

At the suggestion of a walk around town, Starshy grinned. " That sounds like a fun idea. Then as we walk, we can figure out what to do next.. like eat breakfast. " She suggested, looking at him. It still amazed her that after all this time they'd somehow come together again. Was it fate? Or just a coincidence? Starshy would like it think of it as fate, sounded more romantic in her mind.

"Breakfast sounds great." He nodded in agreement and trotted beside her. His large body loomed over hers while the two walked through town. In his mind things were going to be alright, after all she seemed to enjoy his company as much as he enjoyed hers. His golden eyes looked over the town briefly as the morning light began to dawn over the area. It was just as nice here as it was back at the farm and he found himself unintentionally smiling.

 

"We could try that little cafe again. I believe I read that they served breakfast here in the morning." He suggested. He seemed much more open and talkative now that he was becoming closer and closer to her. "I ummm..." He started and looked off awkwardly. "Was wondering if I could ask you some questions about your magic... again."

Starshy happily trotted along side Chocolate, taking notice of how much he loomed over her. It made her wonder about what he was like as a young foal. Was he just as big or actually small like most foals? Starshy pondered over this for a moment as they walked, admiring the sunny day that was ahead of them.

 

When he asked about her magic, she titled her head. No pony had really asked this before, not even earth ponies she'd come across occasionally. They weren't nearly as curious, especially those living in Ponyville where many unicorns like herself lived.   " What would you like to know? "

He trotted alongside her as hey made their way towards the cafe, he didn't break away from his usual meal and waited for her to place her order as well. He placed some bits on the table and softly smiled to her. "Please allow me to pay again." He said. "Since you have not received payment from my farm yet, it is the least I can do." He said looking into her eyes. So far the date was going well, wait... was this a date? Technically they were spending time together but this was just an outing right? 

 

"What are you capable of with your magic? Is their limits? Does it hurt when you use it?" The large brown stallion seemed to be like a little kid asking so many questions but he was adamant on learning all about the unicorn and her powers. It was so exciting for him to learn more about her.

She sat down across from Chocolate, and quickly scanning over the menu, made her order. Chocolate's offer to pay again made her want to protest, but she decided not to say anything. He was much too kind for his own good. This was starting to feel more and more like a date even though it was still morning. She blushed a bit at the thought.

 

"What are you capable of with your magic? Is their limits? Does it hurt when you use it?"  Starshy smiled at all his questions. He was quiet adorable being so curious about her ability to use magic. He was like a child trying to soak up new information. She cleared her throat and began to speak, 

 

" I can make objects move and levitate making it easy to lift them or what have you. I can transform things, transport myself from one spot to another. Heal an injured pony. 

 

And of course there are limits. Some spells are too advanced for a regular unicorn like myself to perform. I can't make ponies act against their free will or make any pony fall in love with another pony, unless you are Princess Cadence. 

 

It can hurt sometimes when trying to perform a difficult spell, or just attempting to lift something that is heavy like a bale of hay. It all depends. "

[Chocolate 109]

Chocolate didn't realize it, but as she spoke his eyes seemed to drift from her face to her horn and then back again, as if expecting magic to happen at any moment. By the time she had finished her explanation the large stallion was slightly leaned over the table examining her horn and looked a bit troubled. "It is not hurting now is it? I did push you pretty hard on the first day of working on the farm..." 

 

His eyes blinked when he realized how close he was to her and a few other ponies were staring at him. "My apologies, I am just a bit concerned is all. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you." He admitted with a small blush as he readjusted his saddle. Just then the waiter came by and served them their orders and he began to slowly eat while still occasionally glancing down to her. "..."

Starshy shook her head. " No, it only hurts slightly as I'm performing a spell or levitating. " She felt a little self-conscious with him looking at her horn like that but had remind herself that he just wasn't use to being around unicorns much. In the back in her mind, there was a question if he asked his Pegasus marefriend this any questions back when he was with her. 

 

 Starshy blushed at the closeness of his face to hers, but then he was apologizing and saying that he was only worried about her safety. " It's ok, I'll be fine. I appreciate your concern though. "

 

She was happy to see that their orders arrived, and she used her magic to levitate the folk and knife. They cut into her meal on their own, and glancing up she noticed he was still occasionally looking at her horn. 

 

" My horn does happen to be sensitive, as I can feel when I'm using my magic every time. It's just the way that it's works. But I don't think you need to worry so much. I may be a small pony but the most I'll feel is maybe a small stain but nothing more than that. "

He nodded in agreement and decided to relax a little bit even though he wasn't certain if she was just saying that to make him worry less. The last thing he wanted was for someone to get hurt again because of him. The same thing had happened back at the resort when everypony had decided to follow him out in the snowstorm to try and find a way out, but everypony wound up hurt and injured but himself. Even up until now, he felt guilty about putting everyone through that.

 

"I understand." He said giving her a small wink. "I think I know what we can do next after we're done with breakfast. Have you ever wanted to go to the theater? I have..."

Starshy perked up at the mention of going to a theater. " I've never been before. It sounds like fun. " She smiled, guiding the piece of her egg omelet she cut to her mouth and chewed. 

 

Now that he wasn't worrying about her horn anymore, the young mare felt strangely sad that he wasn't fusing over her. It was silly, honestly, why should she care suddenly? 

 

After a minute or two of silence between them, maybe more, Starshy felt the need to ask something. She didn't know how'd she be able to without becoming a blushing mess but it was necessary. Even though they had confessed to each other the other day they hadn't really made it official yet. 

 

" Chocolate... c-can I ask you something? "

He poked at the food he had ordered with his muzzle, it was a bit hard for him to eat with his large body. He couldn't use his hooves and it was times like this he wished he had been blessed with magic like she had. At around the end of the meal she directed a question towards him, which caused him to cease his struggles with the last of his meal to give her his full attention. He looked to her with a curious expression and his ears perked. 

 

She wanted to ask him a question? He blinked and wiped his muzzle with a napkin. "Yes you may." He answered directing all of his focus on the beautiful mare before him. He was hoping it didn't involve his family and the incident that had occurred the day before. He still wasn't sure how he was going to work around that, but he was ready to answer whatever question she had for him.

"Will you be my...my...colt friend?" Starshy asked, lowering her head sheepishly. She managed to get it out alright, thankfully. It was still slightly embarrassing to ask.

 

Her eyes cautiously lifted to study his reaction. He didn't look shocked or upset. She hoped the answer would be yes.

[Chocolate 109]

"Will you be my...my...colt friend?"

 

He blinked and looked to her for a bit, his face was stoic and hard to read as he appeared to be thinking it over. Was she asking him what he thought she was? Even his previous encounter with a mare at the resort hadn't ended with him being anyone's colt friend. For a moment and just a moment it appeared as if the giant brown stallion was going to decline but he trotted from the other side of the table to move closer to her.

 

He stepped closer to her without a word, it was clear from her expression that she was nervous but... He lifted his large hoof to her face and brushed aside some of her hair. Only to move his muzzle down close to hers, closed his eyes, then gently pressed them to hers. It was the first time the stallion had done anything so bold like that and nodded. "Yes."

Starshy chewed on the lower lip of her muzzle, watching him as he considered her words. She feared for a moment that he'd rejected her. Maybe in means to keep her from getting hurt by his family, but honestly she'd be much more hurt by his rejection. They hadn't been around each other that much up until this point and after spending time with him, on his farm, and this, well it was hard not to develop feelings for him. He was kind, brave, thoughtful, and so many other things. She enjoyed spending time with him and telling him about her magic. If she had to give that all up now, she'd be crushed.

 

However, much to her slight surprise, he moved over to her side of the table and sat next to her. She glanced up at him, shaking with anxiousness, and then he began to lower his head. Her eyelids fluttered closed and feeling his muzzle pressed up against hers for a second time was like.. tasting water after having none for days. Refreshing and right and wonderful... 

 

She was floating as he pulled away, her eyelids opening. 

 

 

" Yes " came his responds and she couldn't help smiling.

He watched the unicorn's reaction to his cute, so adorable. He couldn't believe any stallion in his right mind would ever leave her. He truly was the luckiest stallion to have had her affections. After so long, he finally had his own special mare friend. One he would cherish and protect no matter what happened. For that moment he felt something he hadn't before and had to take a step back to give her some of her personal space back. 

"I... that was rather rash of me. But I wanted to return the favor from the other day. It was nice and I have to admit I haven't stopped thinking about you since. " He admitted. He noticed they had both finished their meals sometime ago and rubbed his front leg with his hoof. "So... shall we go?"

Starshy snapped out of her daze, shaking her head. " No, don't apologize.. I rather liked it. A lot. " She blushed yet again, it was turning into something she couldn't help doing when she was around her new coltfriend. 

 

" I haven't stopped thinking about you either. " She confessed as well, getting up and gave a nod. " Yes, let's go. We can head to that theater you were talking about earlier. "
