How to make plushies?

I took my niece to a pony convention a few weeks ago, and she fell in love with a 20 inch Cadence toy, but it was someone else's that they brought from home, so there were none available. I want to make one for her for Christmas this year, but I've only ever made human plushies. 

 

Do any of you have a tutorial, or patterns for me?

I am currently trying to make a decent looking one. I have made three plushies so far, the first two I gave to my cousin (who didn't mind the un-perfectness of them or the fact that they don't have manes or tails yet because I can't find the perfect material yet)

I am far from making anything like the ones people are selling online (at least many of them anyways) so I can't really help other than posting a few patterns. Sorry.

Thank you so much! I'll try to post pictures when Cadence is finished. Hopefully I can get a good sewing machine, and have it looking good.
