Pheonix was still running until an arrow hit his back leg. He feel down hard. Pheonix looked back as the figure who shot him approached,

 

"You cannot kill me!!" Pheonix said.

"You want to bet?" Replied the figure.

Another small figure about the size of a filly ran up and stood in front of Pheonix.

"Don't kill him. They had no plan to kill us." Replied the filly.

"He's just like everypony else Scootaloo." Replied the figure.

"All they do is hide 'n' that Fortress and don't help us at all... To ANY extent." Replied the figure.

"Please AppleJack, leave him be." Scootaloo pleaded.

 

AppleJack's face turned to a death stare. And her and Scootaloo ran back into the mists.

 

Pheonix yelled at the them. "The storm will kill you!!"

 

Pheonix started to get up. And then fell back down. He turned around to try to pull the arrow out of his leg. It stung incredibly. "Crud." Pheonix said.

 

Pheonix pulled out the arrow and a huge sting hit his back.

 

"If you try to stand...you're dead." The voice said.

Then the pony behind him knocked him out.

 

Right before @flikka99(HeartSong) got lost she was knocked out.

 

 

Pheonix's eyes started to open. He noticed he was next too HeartSong. They couldn't move they were tied up.

 

And there was a fire not too far from them.

 

"Ooh good you're awake." AppleJack said.

"Mind tellin me why you sent your Captain into my camp?" AppleJack said demandingly.

"I cannot answer that." Pheonix said rudely.

 

AppleJack started to walk around the fire towards Pheonix. She got awfully close to Pheonix and kissed his neck then smacked him.

"You don't think we want to know that information?" AppleJack said.

AppleJack started to back up and walk towards the Pony besides Pheonix.

"Ahh HeartSong is it?" AppleJack said.

"We'll listen sugercube. If you don't get your little friend here to start talking. I'm going to kill him." AppleJack said with a smile.

 

AppleJack got extremely close to HeartSong.

"Hear me partner?" AppleJack said.

 

"It's useless the other pony doesn't know anything." A voice said.

AppleJack turned to the talking pony.

"Ah Shut up Trixie." AppleJack said.

 

"Pheonix wouldn't of brought somepony out here if they didn't know." AppleJack said while looking at HeartSong. "So which is it sugarcube?" AppleJack said.

 

Pheonix noticed that AppleJack had a dagger rested on her chest aimed for her heart.

 

Pheonix yelled. "Please no!"

"I took her out here, so we could get medicine for the fillies in the Fortress." Pheonix said with a desperate look.

 

AppleJack looked at Pheonix.

She started to walk over to him and got so close to him that she was on his lap.

"So then... You going to tell us now?" AppleJack said with a smile.

 

Applejack put the blade on Pheonix's neck.

"Better tell me now Pheonix." AppleJack said.

 

Trixie was watching this happen by the side lines

AppleJack knock it off She thought. But said nothing. Trixie backed up and vanished.

Rock dumped his bloodied scalpel into a bucket of water.

"It's over" He whispered

 

His patient, a Pegasus, looked at the bandaged remains of her wing.

"When will the pain killers wear off?"

 

"A couple of hours" Rock scribbled in his notebook "I suggest you take it easy or it might start to bleed again"

 

The Pegasus stood up "Take it easy? I wish" She rolled her eyes, before exiting

 

Rock set down his notebook. He looked at the bloodstains on his operating table.

"I'll never get used this" Without delay, he set about cleaning the place "One day you're isolated from society, the next day, you become appointed the 'de facto' doctor"

 

Without delay, Rock sets about cleaning the room.

AppleJack got off Pheonix and kicked him in the gutt. "We'll get the information from you sooner or later." AppleJack spatted. "No sense in killing you." AppleJack said.

 

AppleJack looked at HeartSong. Then kissed Pheonix. And then winked at her.

 

AppleJack walked off. And vanished in the mist.

 

Pheonix looked at HeartSong.

"I'll get us out of here." Pheonix promised.

HeartSong looked mad at Pheonix.

"Just wait.." Pheonix stated.

 

Their ropes were untied and released from behind. As they turned around. "Get out of here!" Said Scootaloo. "AppleJack hasnt been herself lately."

 

"Scootaloo, take us to AppleJack." Demanded Pheonix.

"Okay.." Scootaloo said.

 

Scootaloo started to direct them from the fire. In the direction of where AppleJack went. As they walked through the mist. They found the flower that they needed for Medicine. Pheonix picked the flower and gave it to HeartSong and kept walking with Scootaloo.

 

They came up to a tent.

"AppleJack's inside." Scootaloo said. And she ran off crying softly.

 

Pheonix stuck his head into the tent flap just a little. What he saw inside answered his question. AppleJack was chained standing up with her head down. And there was blood dripping from her head. The other AppleJack was drinking the blood from the other ones head.

 

Pheonix moved his head out of the tent.

"It's a changeling" Pheonix stated.

"Apparently the changelings have mutated." Pheonix said. "They like blood now.."

 

Pheonix put his head back in the flap to see anything. And when he did, the changeling wasn't there. "Shi-" The Tent Exploded Pheonix and HeartSong were pushed back 5 feet. HeartSong got up to see Pheonix bleeding intensely. Pheonix was gasping for air.

 

The changeling hit the ground in front of them.

"I'm going to kill you both now." The changeling said. BAM The changeling was hit by AppleJack with an upper cut. Then Trixie out of nowhere ran up to AppleJack's side and shot a arrow at the changeling and missed.

 

Trixie screamed back. "Get Pheonix out of here!!"

"Go now!!!!" Trixie demanded.

After getting the last stain out of the carpet, rock sighed to himself "that took longer than expected"

 

He put away his cleaning equipment, then started to do the same with the medical.

However, he accidentally picked up a scalpel by the wrong end.

 

"Ow!" He squeaked "Well that was just clever"

 

He looked at the blood that trickled from the small wound. It gravely reminded him of his mortality. That death can be just around the corner.

 

However, it also occured to him that he's the only trained doctor here. Or at least that he knows of. If he were to die all of a sudden...

 

"I need an apprentice" he said "Before its too late"

 

He went out the house and tried looking for Phoenix but couldn't find him. Rock tried looking for the squire instead, hoping he could offer information on Phoenix's whereabouts.

John was finished making a basket of bread. And started to head for the Fort Stronghold. Why does the Squire need this bread?? John shook his head in disagreement. The stallion hates bread.. John finally started to reach the Fort Stronghold. The guards looked at him.

"State your business!" The guard says.

"I'm here to bring bread to the Squire." John says.

"But.." The guard said puzzled.

Both guards looked at each other. Then said at the same time.

"But the Squire hates bread."

 

John said "I know."

 

The guards let him pass.

When John entered the Stronghold he saw a filly.

"Can you point me to the squire?" Asked John.

The filly backed up slowly. Like he had never seen a pony before.

"Th-th-the Squire?" The filly asked.

 

"H-h-he's over there.." The filly said pointing.

 

John saw a huge stair case and a thrown nearby the top. The Squire was sitting in it but talking to somepony.

 

John froze..."Princess L-L-Luna??" John's mouth dropped. "Th-the-they don't exist anymore!!"

 

Princess Luna turned and saw John. She gave him a warm smile. Then a dark sphere surrounded her and she vanished.

 

John wasn't moving.

Rock asked for directions, a helpful unicorn pointed him to the stronghold.

As he approached the entrance he encountered the guards.

"State your business" The guard said

"I need to talk to the squire" Rock croaked

"Is it important?" The guard inquired

"Of course it's important!" Rock poked the guard "Let me in!"

 

The guard rolled his eyes "Very well"

 

Rock entered. He studied his surroundings. The squire came into view on a large stair case and throne. He saw a frozen pony staring at the squire.

"Hey" Rock teased "Might wanna close your mouth before a flies goes into it"

John was in shock. As soon as Rock Tatcher talked to him John made a screech sound. And collapsed.

 

The Squire heard John screech and turned his attention to the visitors.

The Squire got off the thrown and started to walk down towards Rock. The Squire had on a dark gold cloak. It bore an emerald trim touch. The Squire also had a hat on, with a Diamond in the shape of a trapezoid cut in half on the top. The trapezoid was being eaten by a dark red serpent.

 

The Squire finally got to the visitors. The Squire gave them an odd look and asked rock.

"May I help you?" The Squire asked in a mono tone.

"Yes" Rock looked at John "I'm not sure about him, but I have a dire urge to speak to Phoenix"

Rock pulled his notebook from his saddlebag

 

"It has occured to me that I might be the only medical professional here" he presents his notebook to the Squire "As you can see, I've made a record of everypony who came to see me. Which is quite a big number"

 

Rock cleared his throat "I would like permission from Phoenix to train someone. If I were to pass away so suddenly, this area would have no doctor"

The Squire heard the pony next to rock making weird noises. He motioned a guard to come over and take him away to somewhere else.

 

The Squire turned around and started walking towards the stairs. "He was here. But he left on a quest with a mare." The Squire said.

"They were going to find medicine for the fillies at the orphanage." The Squire said

 

The Squire said "They're in the mists now." "The would be very hard to track in the mist. However if you are interested in finding them. I can provide assistance." The Squire said while turning around facing Rock.

 

The Squire went to the middle of the room. "Hath ofth fer lieon" and an orb came out of the center where the Squire was standing. The center was the middle of a diamond.

 

"This orb will find them if you're interested." The Squire said. "If you choose to go. Let me know ill send a guard with you."

He put his notebook away "And make sure you give me an experienced guard, I don't want to babysit anyone"

 

'Maybe if I'm lucky, I might find an abandoned house' he joked to himself 'Isolation from this mess of a world'

The Squire looked around a corner. "Francis get the luetinant for me please." The Squire said.

A mare came out of a corridor with dark silver armor. She had a blonde mane, and dark blue eyes. "Can I help you Squire." She said.

 

"Yes, you may. This stallion needs to go into the mist to find Pheonix." The Squire said.

"Why is Pheonix in the mist?" Asked the mare.

"He went with a mare Sarah, he needed to get medicine." The Squire said.

"Oh course he would go for a mare..." Sarah said.

 

She walked over to Rock. She sighed "Lead the way.." Sarah said.

The duo exited through the northern gates. As soon as they were outside, the white orb drifted slowly out into the terrain. The two followed.

 

As they walked, an uneasy silence lingered in the air. Rock normally liked to keep to him self, but danger he was getting into put him on edge.

 

He looked at his escort "So..." He started "I don't think I've seen you around before"

"I don't leave the Fortress often." She said. "I usually stay inside and work with Pheonix on security details." "I would leave but I have had no reason to be out there." Sarah said with a small frown.

 

Sarah looked at the orb and it turned from a white color to red. It shot ahead to a dead body. And hoovered over it.

 

The duo ran up. Sarah pulled up the body to see the face. She gasped. "Captain!!" She pulled out her bow. "I think Pheonix might be in danger." Sarah said with a worried look.

"Mother Celestia" Rock cursed "Check the breathing and pulse"

His eyes darted around the environment. There was nothing there, or at least nothing he could see.

 

Rock opened his saddlebag and pulled out a first aid kit. "How is he?" He asked "Are there any wounds?"

"We got to keep moving. I'll send a message to the Squire to get the body." Sarah said.

Then there was an echo of an explosion. The orb turned a tanish grey. And started to move in its direction. Sarah looked at Rock. "We got to get to Pheonix now!" Sarah took off into the mist following the orb. "How good are you at being a doctor??" Sarah asked.

As the duo kept running they saw a tent. Then a pole and a fire. It was still lit. They heard in the distance. Run!!, Go now!!

"We're extremely close" Sarah said as they were still running.

 

As they came up to the scene they saw Pheonix and a mare next to each other. Pheonix was hurt badly. They saw AppleJack and Trixe fighting a mutant. "You help Pheonix, Rock!" Sarah yelled.

 

AppleJack got hit hard by the Mutant changeling. And got knocked back. Trixe shot another arrow and hit the Mutants arm. The Mutant screeched and before it could retaliate. Sarah swung her long sword at the Mutant and knocked it back. Once that happened AppleJack got back up. And ran at the Mutant.

"Keep calm, I'm a doctor" Rock said, he inspected the wound on Phoenix's leg "Some muscle damage... Bone looks intact... Need to stop the bleeding"

 

He glanced at the other mare, no major injuries seemed visible. Rock set about cleaning the wound, then disinfecting it.

 

"What can replace bandages..." Rock glanced at the fire "Of course!"

He picked up a dagger that was dropped from the nearby battle and stuck it in the fire. Next he grabbed a piece of wood and stuck it between Phoenix's teeth.

"You'll need this"

 

Rock then took the dagger out of the fire. The blade was glowing red hot. He went over to Phoenix.

"This might hurt, but it will seal the wound"

Rock readied himself. This was going to get ugly.

As Pheonix was being helped. AppleJack was running up to the Mutant. The Mutant kicked her across the face in the jaw. AppleJack was down. Then Trixie shot another arrow and hit the Mutant in the chest. Then Trixie rushed the Mutant and Trixie was slashed very slightly and knocked down. Trixie's spear fell on the ground. Sarah rushed the Mutant and she swung and hit the Mutant then Mutant moved back as Sarah kept rushing the Mutant nonestop. The Mutant leaped to the left and rolled. Then picked up Trixie's spear. And Sarah didn't see it. She rushed again and the half the spear disappeared. It was in Sarah's side. Sarah gasped. Her eyes had blood tears coming out of them. "Rock..." She looked at him. Then she was thrown with the spear still in her.

 

AppleJack said "Enough!" Then they heard a Gun Shot The sound echoed. The Mutant was shot in the head.

Rock broke his concentration from Phoenix "No..." he murmured "NO!"

Sarah was thrown deep into the depths of the forest, out of sight.

Gritting his teeth, Rock looked back at Phoenix and his companion. Then at the mutant, now with a bullet hole between the eyes.

 

He couldn't be distracted now. Not with another life on the line. Rock finished cauterizing the wound and he disinfected it again.

"You better pull through" Rock said

AppleJack and Trixie ran after Sarah. As they ran it didn't take long for them to disappear from sight like Sarah had. Scootaloo ran past HeartSong and ran where AppleJack, Trixie, and Sarah went. The orb turned to black and it went towards where Sarah was thrown.

Rock saw everyone run past him. He felt conflicted. A doctor shouldn't leave their patient unattended. The two looked quite vulnerable. But then again, there might be a chance that Sarah was alive, and would need help... or to be put down.

 

He left some painkillers by Phoenix "If you wound starts getting sore, just take a couple of these. Just read the side-effects before you do though" He set off in the direction of Sarah. Uncertain what would await him.

Sarah was on the ground with AppleJack, Trixie, and Scootaloo on their knees surrounding her.

 

Sarah was crying blood still. She sounded like she wasn't getting air. "Ow...ow...my gutt." Sarah was balling. "Shh..shh it's okay sugarcube." AppleJack said with a smile but she was crying.

Sarah was trying to breath. She looks like she was in antangernizing pain. Sarah was turning grey. Trixie was stroking her hair. "It's fine, it's fine. Shh shh.." Trixie said.

 

Rock approached.
