My Rainbow Dash Shield

I recently bought a well-made wooded sword while I was on vacation. It was really cool, and I messed around with it a lot. But I thought to myself one day, I need a shield to go with it. That's sort of how this happened. I took a board that was already the perfect size, and just cut off the corners. Then I screwed some rubber hose on to make a handle, and chopped up an old belt to make the part that would go over my upper arm.

 

I wasn't sure what to put on the shield, so I thought to myself, What do I like? Well, I like MLP, Skyrim, and Supernatural. I didn't want to take the time to put the Imperial Dragon insignia from Skyrim on the shield, and I couldn't really think of anything to represent Supernatural except for a pentacle, and that just wouldn't fit. So that left MLP. I was originally going to put Twilight's cutie mark on it, but the shape would be too hard to do. Instead, I used Dashie's! After I painted it on, though, the ends of screws were still sticking out of the front. I had to use a disc grinder to grind those off. It came out looking pretty good. Since I didn't have yellow paint, I had to use a marker for the yellow streak in the cutie mark, and it came out a bit too dark. Once I get some yellow paint I can paint over it, though.

Pretty cool, but I think it needs more. To me it seems too blank, if ya can you should try and add more designs on it. Maybe add like rainbows along the edge or something.

That's a good idea. I probably should have made the cutie mark bigger, so that it would take up more space. I don't really want to add more designs, though. Then it would look like a 3-year-old had come along and slapped a bunch of stuff on there.

 

I'm thinking about sanding it over, though, and putting some protective stuff over it as well.

Sole got to it before I did. It does look cool, but adding more design would be cool. Just try filling in the blanks with the rainbows. Or if you really wanted it to look cool, you'd put RainbowDash on it. Maybe not all of RainbowDash, but one of those things where she blends in with the background color. If you know what I'm talking about.
