“22 hours ago, Admiral Sun Rider was found dead in his office. An hour later, our ship known as ‘Unity’ was plunged into absolute anarchy” Said Romula Grey

She stood amongst the crowd of bruised and answer-seeking ponies. The sun reflecting off of her Greyish white coat.

“During the chaos, our engines went offline. It is unknown if this was due to further sabotage or an accident during the panic. But that caused us to crash here”

She opened up her wings, the wrecks of the crash and vast expanse of a desert behind her.

 

“We are lucky to have survived such events. And even luckier to have the majority of the Security Department with us”

Romula indicated to the smartly dressed ponies to her left

“And what tops off that luck is a small division of the Equestrian Marines survived as well”

To the right of Romula, a couple of grizzled, armed ponies can be seen joking amongst themselves.

“But that is where our luck ends” She flicks her auburn hair out of her face “Apart from munitions, we are low on all forms of supplies. Rationing will be enforced immediately as in par with regulations”

 

The crowd of ponies mutter amongst themselves.

“Since Admiral Sun Rider is no longer with us and Captain Anchor Head is MIA, my rank of Lieutenant puts me in charge by default”

Romula proudly displays her rank on her jacket, the crowd’s chatter softens.

“Now, if you need me, I’ll be helping the Security Department collecting scrap from the wreckage. If you also like to help out, just find my personal assistant, Slavik. He’ll keep a record of who does what” She nods over to a dark grey pony with a red mane “Everyone is dismissed”

After the incident,  the Spartacist branch was formed. One of it's few members was Stephan. But, no one calls him that anymore. These days, he goes by Blasted Nova. Ponies just call him "Blast" for short. Blast was the speed demon of the branch who leaves the faction every day to do a daily patrol of the now fallen world. Today, he was just walking through a ruined desert terrain Romula Grey was in , delivering supplies to the ponies who have set up tough lives for themselves.

An orange pony with short blonde hair and a goatee walked up to Nova.

 

"Hey man! You survived the crash as well?" He exclaimed "I should of known you'd be tough to kill"

 

His name was Leo, and he was part of the marine corps on the ship, now serving as a de facto army for the Spartacist faction. He casually nudged Stephan.

 

"Can you believe this crap we're in? It's almost like I'm in a nightmare" He shuddered

Blast smirked (I go by blast in these post-disaster RP's. In others, I go by Stephan.) "Well, it certainly isn't the best time to be alive.  My name is Blast. I'm the fastest pony in the land! Well, on land that is." Blast handed the orange pony a biscuit. "Who are you, anyways?"  (Changing. Don't respond yet.)

Blast smirked and handed Leo a couple of biscuits and butter. "Well, yeah. When you're one of the fastest things in the land, you're pretty tough to catch."

"Oh yeah, I nearly forgot" Leo chuckled "I'm Leo Ard, you might not know me but I sure know you!"

 

He accepted the biscuit from Blast and munched on it.

 

"I've heard quite a few of your deeds. Some of the boys in the Marines Division are impressed by what you done" He started walking and motioned for Blast to follow "Tell me man, what were you doing on our ship? Were you a hired mercenary or something?"

Blast smiled and walked with Leo while drinking water from the canteen. "Nice to meet you, Leo. Nah, I'm no mercenary. I'm just a pony trying to help out. That's what I've been doing ever since I was transported to Equestria five years ago." Memories of Earth went through Blast's mind, but he managed to forget them in an instant. "Besides, what would the Marines want with me?"

"I'm just saying the Marines were impressed, that's a hard thing to do!"

 

He pointed at Romula Grey who was helping with the scavenging of materials.

 

"Lieutenant Romula there used to be in them. She's as tough as leather boots" He joked "She's assigned me and the Marines to do the exploring, whilst her and the Security Department keep order within the base"

Blast let out a slight 'heh' "So, she's pretty much in charge. I guess she keeps things to the top of the line if she's that tough." Blast took another drink of water through the canteen. "Hopefully the marines are doing good. These are hard times, that's for sure. If you need any help, don't hesitate to tell me. I'm all about protecting the ponies of the land."

"Yeah man, Romula holds the authority here. Rules say highest ranking pony is in charge" Leo said "But now that you mention about help being needed, I think we might have something for you to do"

 

He quickly changed direction, Blast still followed him.

 

"See, the Marines aren't too big in number. We barely have a dozen of us" Leo frowned "But if you follow me, I'll take you to Slavik. He can sign you up for some jobs that need doing"

Blast nodded and clicked his back hooves. "Sounds awesome, dude. Hopefully there's plenty of adventure. I love adventure." Blast was actually a little excited to be working with the marine branch. He always looked up to them on Earth, and that carried through to Equestria. Now that he's actually getting to work with them, it felt like a humongous honor.

The two ponies trotted for a while. Roughly 30 minutes later, Leo stopped and awkwardly rubbed the back of his head.

 

"I'm not good with directions, so bear with me for minute" He looked around the handmade shacks that some of the ponies have made out of the ship wreckage "Over here... I think"

 

The duo started walking again "So, you know many ponies here? Any friends or family?"

"Well, yeah. Me and my best friend, Flash, were roommates. He was a pegasus. My family is from... other places. Me and Flash used to do everything together." Blast didn't want to talk about his family. Since they lived back on Earth, he hasn't seen them for years. "I really don't feel like talking about my family, though..."

"Damn man..." Leo frowned "I wonder if I'll see my family ever again, being trapped on this planet and all"

 

Leo opened his saddlebag and pulled out a cigarette. He put it in his mouth and lit it.

 

"I'd offer you one but this was the last one, sorry" He threw the packet away "Anyways, I best give you the run down of how our settlement is being run. Just to make sure we're on the same level"

He clear his throat "Basically, it's common knowledge that Romula is running the show at the moment. And Slavik is the administrator, he does all the micromanagement such as assigning jobs, taking notes, ect... But who you haven't heard of is Peppermint"

 

Leo coughed before continuing "Peppermint was the Head of Security on the ship, and he still is at the moment. He's the 2nd in command here" He finished his cigarette and spat it out "Any questions so far?"

Blast shook his head. "No, but let me make something clear; when I'm told to do something by these guys, I do it how I wish. I rarely kill, but I will if I have to. I usually tackle my problems head on, so I'm not a big strategy pony. I just want to approach the problem how I want to. It'll be done, don't worry, but I'll do it how I want to.

Other than that, no. Continue on."

"I'm sure none of them will mind... Well Peppermint might, he's a bit of a control freak, but as long as you get the job done, no one should mind" Rock looked around once more and smiled

 

"Found it!" He cheered, he and Blast walked inside a metal shack

 

Inside was a Dark Grey pony with a red mane. He had bags under his eyes, however his energetic movement showed him to be quite cheery.

 

"Hey Leo, who's your friend?" He asked

 

"Yo Slavik, this is Blast. He's a useful pony who wants to help out" Leo explained

 

Slavik looked at Blast "Useful huh? Can you use a gun?"

Blast just folded his arms and smirked "Gun. Pfft. I don't need any gun. I have speed on my side. I can run at up to mach 3 speeds and I can pull off a move I call the sonic blast, which increases my speed and strength tenfold. So, yeah. Blasted Nova at your service."

Slavik raised his eyebrows. He looked over Leo who just gave an approving nod.

 

"Can't argue with that" Slavik smiled as he scribbled in a notebook "Let's see, what task do I have for some pony of your skill..."

 

As Slavik looked through the notes, Leo curiously tested the strength of a wall in the metal shack. This backfired however, and the wall threatened to collapse. Leo quickly leans against the wall to prevent it from falling. Slavik looks up at Leo.

 

"Are you okay Leo?" He asked

 

"Just peachy!" Leo lied

 

Slavik put his notebook down "Right, we haven't got any major jobs at the moment. But we are always looking for ponies to help with the scavenging effort. Any weapons, medicine, food or equipment you can find, just bring it back here. Think you can handle that?"

Blast nodded. "I might. There's a small patch of settling land not too far from here. I saw it the other day while I was going on my daily run. The land still seem to have some resources, but not that much. They're about 15 miles away, but I can get there in 45 seconds flat. I could check there if you want."

"Yeah, if we scavenge for stuff that's quite far away from the base, we'll be saving the other ponies the job of doing it" Leo agreed

 

Slavik shrugged "Up to you I guess, but try not to stray too far. If you get lost, we have no way of finding you"

 

"Don't worry Slavik, we'll be fine" Leo stopped leaning against the wall, it nearly collapsed "Shall we get going Blast?"

Blast smiled. "Ready as I'll ever be." He grabbed onto Leo. He was about to start running. "Hold on to your butt and cigar." With that, Blast starts running at 1/2 of a mach. He didn't want to go too fast, as he didn't want Leo to go flying. While he ran, he made a mental map so they could return to the base easily. When they finally got to the land, Blast stopped with a screech and halt. "Haha! Yeah!"

Leo quickly recovered from the multiple heart attacks he nearly had on the journey.

 

"Sweet Celestia..." He gasped "Right... Let's get searching... then..."

 

Leo rummaged pushed some scrap metal aside. He found a few water bottles, he put them in his saddlebag.

 

"Blast, you check through that wiring. See if you can find some power cells. I'm gonna take a look at these damaged crates here"

"Sure thing" He walked over the wiring. "Electrical wiring? Out here in the middle of nowhere? Now I've seen everything." Blast wasn't familiar with Gaia. He used to live back on Earth, then Equestria, and now he has to make settlement on another world. He's been quite the space traveler.

"Leo, I found some power cells. Should I harness their power somehow?"

"The wiring is from the ship you donut" Leo joked "Hehe, you didn't think it grew from the ground did you?"

 

He trotted over to Blast and looked at the power cells.

 

"They seem good. We can harness the power later, but for now we just need to take them back to base" He walked back over the damaged crates "You wouldn't mind helping me open this, will ya?"

Blast walked up to the crate and examined it. It was pretty heavily damaged and weak. "Heh. Nothing a little kick can't handle. Back up." Blast signaled Leo to step away from the crate. He jumped and kicked the crate, breaking it into pieces. The stuff inside revealed as clear as day.

Leo shielded himself from the splinters, he then looked at the contents.

 

"Woah..." He said shocked "It's all whiskey!"

 

Bottles of whiskey stacked on top of each other, numbering well over a hundred, stood before the two ponies.

 

"Do you know how popular we'll be if we hand this in to all the ponies back at the base?" Leo turned to Blast, a large smile glued to his face "We'll become freaking legends! I say we take the whiskey back right now!"
